Poured from a 12 ounce can without a date into a snifter.
Look- Black, sudsy medium brown head, visible particulate near the edges, opaque, extremely below average head retention and lacing.
Smell- Burnt oats, peanut, chocolate, weak strength of scent.
Taste- Overwhelming burnt oats, super slight peanut, high strength of flavor (undesirable burnt oats).
Feel- Between thin and medium body, moderately bitter, average carbonation.
Overall- Black appearance, but extremely below average head retention. Weak bouquet with peanut and burnt oats. Flavor profile was dominated by an undesirable strong burnt oat flavor. Feel was thinner than expected with average carbonation. Overall the flavors were not very appealing and the bouquet was much more understated than expected.

Appearance: A large, somewhat coarse, persistent tan head crowns a dark amber body, which is opaque to even a strong light source. At the narrowest point of the glass, a bit of dark amber highlight can be seen. Scattered patches of delicate lacing can be seen on the glass wall.
Aroma: Curiously, the aroma does not seem to present any note of peanut butter, though toasted malt and molasses are abundant, as well as a strong note of brown sugar. Notes of sweet alcohol are also evident.
Taste: The taste opens with strong notes of dark chocolate, bitter cocoa, and molasses. An undercurrent of mildly warming, spicy alcohol runs throughout the taste. Toasted nuts are also present in the depths of the taste. The peanut butter notes are subtle and appear late in the taste. As the taste draws to a close, the notes of molasses and bitter cocoa rise, with the latter lingering on well past the end of the taste.
Mouth feel: Quite soft and full, with a body and texture that resembles whole milk.
Drinkability/notes: A really excellent dessert beer, pairs very well with dark chocolate or similar desserts.
Presentation: Packaged in a standard twelve-ounce ounce brown glass long-neck bottle with a pry-off crown, La Fin du Monde tulip. 1820:12212021

Nose is a huge wave of chocolate and peanut butter. Subtle roasted malt and coffee
Taste is chocolate, roasted peanuts, a more subtle peanut butter. Dark me lasted malt, interestingly a little bit of Smokey character. Reese’s peanut buttercup finish.
Smooth, creamy beer.

12 oz bottle
Pours opaque black, tan film for a head. Dissipates to a ring.
Aroma of cocoa, peanuts, molasses and licorice.
Flavor is peanut, cocoa, caramel, fig, walnut, and toast.
Full body, light tingly carbonation on the tongue.
Very good taste, balance of rich sweetness and dry bitter and smokey notes. Drinks very smooth. Definitely worth trying.

Poured from a bottle into a snifter
Appearance – The beer pours a very deep brown color with a one finger head of light brown colored foam. The head has a light level of retention, fading rather fast and leaving just a trace of lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the brew is quite heavy of a roasted malt smell mixed with a big showing of a nice sweet roasted peanut aroma and a little bit of vanilla and creme. For a peanut butter stout, there is not as much of the expected chocolate smell that are common to the style, instead there is almost a dark brown sugar like smell. Overall, however the aroma is rather nice, and creates a dessert like inviting smell overall.
Taste – The taste begins with a very strong and robust dark roasted malt flavor mixed with lots of molasses and some brown sugar. Along with these flavors comes some cola like tastes, a bit of chocolate, as well as a moderate showing of some raisin and prune. While the peanut butter taste is lighter upfront, it does grow in nature, providing a nice nutty balance to the sweeter tastes. At the same time, some vanilla and a slight increase in the molasses and toasted flavors comes to the tongue, leaving one with a sweeter, roasty, and nice roasted peanut flavored taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is thicker and more chewy with a carbonation level that is quite low. For the dark and sweet flavors mixed with the roasted peanut tastes, the feel is spot one, creating a more dessert like sipper.
Overall – Its a dark sweet stout with a decent showing of roasted peanut, all while not being too heavy on the chocolate front. It is a nice robust sipper and one to try if you get the opportunity.
