12 oz. can, no date found, guessing old stock given this is listed as retired.
Appearance: Black glass, thin halo of tan foam, no lacing.
Aroma: Butterscotch, dark roasted grain, underlying sweetness.
Taste: The butterscotch flavor is a bit overwhelming, under it is the sweet dark malt Temptress that I generally like. There is a bit of caramel.
Mouthfeel: Medium Heavy Body, low carbonation, clean slightly drying finish.
Overall: The butterscotch note scares me, not exactly sure why, but I don't think that chemical is good for you. The beer stands up under it pretty well, so I get that people like (liked) it. I'm a little salty about not finding a date on the can to know what I was getting. I'd pass if I saw it again.

Poured from bottle into tulip, 1 finger tan head, so so retention and lacing. Jet black in the glass no light gets thru. Smells of roasted malt, caramel, burnt sugar, caramel being the predominate smell. Taste is roasted malt and caramel sweetness that follows thru to the finish. Dangerously easy drinking, not cloying, but the caramel is there. Somewhat a one note beer, but it is a good note

Pours a pitch black color with a half finger foamy brown head. Head retention is minimal. Lacing is mild. Has a slight roasty aroma with heavy caramel. Very mild roasted coffee up front with heavy caramel. Lightly salted. Light to medium bodied with mild carbonation.

Served on tap in a snifter
Appearance - The beer is served a deep brown color with a one finger head of tan colored foam. The head has a good level of retention, slowly fading over time to leave a little bit of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell - The aroma of the brew is heavy of a roasted malt smell mixed with aromas of chocolate and vanilla. Along with these smells comes a decent showing of a sea salt caramel sweetness and a touch of coffee. Overall the aroma is something akin to a salted caramel latte.
Taste - The taste begins with a sweet roasted malt flavor with a big showing of caramel and molasses sweetness as well as a nice roasty flavor with notes of cocoa and some coffee. While the sea salt is very light upfront, it gets more and more potent as the taste profile moves forward with the caramel becoming more and more pronounced as well. Some other milk like flavors also develop as the taste advances combining with the coffee and the roast to produce a latte like flavor. A touch of nut and herb come at the end, along with a little bit of warming alcohol, leaving one with a dark and sweet salted caramel taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel - The body of the brew is rather thick and creamy with a carbonation level that is on the lower side. For the rich, sweet, salted caramel, and roasty taste of the brew the feel is great and makes for a nice slow sipper overall.
Overall - A nice salted caramel stout, with a coffee-salted candy bar like taste. Quite robust and flavorful.

I had this on tap at Blatt in Dallas. I thought it was a pretty good, salty and not a very sweet stout. Relatively easy drinking.
Look: Black with a thin mocca colored head
Aroma: roasted malts, caramel, nuts
Taste: Flavor is roasted malts, caramel, salt, chocolate, maybe nuts at the end, very good.
Body/Overall: medium to full body.

Tasted from tap in a good restaurant. The beer is a very dark chocolate color and had a thick, velvetty head in a nice straw color. The nose gave strong hints of caramel and also almonds. The palate started with some bitterness which gave way to an almost taffy like flavor of salted caramel. The finish was medium long but there was little development. Overall this is an outstanding beer if you like salted caramel flavors with your beer. Highly recommended.
