L: Very clear brilliant copper orange with a very small head that fizzes away quickly and no lacing left on the glass.

S: Caramel malt, sweet honey, some earthy nuttiness, a little bit of sweet apple. Smells quite sweet.

T: Caramel malt, sweet honey, a slight note of noble hops, a little bit of sweet apple. Tastes pretty sweet for an Oktoberfest.

F: Medium body and lower carbonation

O: While not a terrible Oktoberfest this beer is a little overly sweet.

Quick review:

Light copper color with okay head. Aroma is bready, biscuity and fruity. Taste is also biscuity and bready, but with a strong fruity sweetness that is not balanced enough by the noble hops. Finish is also too sweet. Some good classic Marzen flavors but too sweet for my preference.

Poured from a 12oz bottle with no enjoy by date; into a pint glass.
Appearance - orange, clear, lots of carbonation that forms a medium to thin white head. Lacing is fine.
Smell - sweet bread, honey, syrup.
Taste - candied malt sweetness; flavors remind me of sweet rolls.
Feel - light, sweet, malty; somewhat dry finish.
Overall - very drinkable, but only one or two at most for me, as the sweetness runs strong.

Bottle label data: ENJOY BY 12/20/14

The body is crystal clear with a deep gold hue and a one-finger thick, lasting white head. Fruity aroma, like peach and apricot with a mild, malt undertone. The taste mimics the aroma with a bit more grainy bread flavor; rather sweet. Medium mouthfeel; kind of coarse on the palate; dry finish.

A decent beer but there is a little too much overt sweetness that works its way into the overall flavor. Hop bitterness stays low-key and takes some of the sweetness out of the picture. Worth a try...

Saw this on the shelf in Wisconsin and couldn't pass it up. Tried one other beer from Prost and was not terribly wowed, but this is a Märzen -- right? Can't pass on that.

12 oz. brown longneck with a nice spot for the Enjoy By date clear on the label... but no date stamped.

L -- Nice, clear amber-orange color with a dense, cream-colored head that settles quickly to a persistent cap. Second pour into my Becher glass yields some residual yeast -- bottle conditioning is a nice touch.

S -- Bready, yeasty malts with some light caramel.

T -- Same bready malts up front with some nuttiness in the middle and very light caramel in the finish. Spicy hops add a good balance to any sweetness that could get out of hand. The overall aftertaste is slightly astringent to metallic, but I wonder if this is age weighing on the bottles.

F -- Mouthfeel is soft to dry with a medium body.

O -- I'd like to find this more fresh next year to see if my opinion is different; the astringency is not a good character for a well-made lager. The nuttiness is a little distracting as well, but not so much to subtract a lot of points.

I love me a good Marzen, but this was just a little bit too light for me. I would have preferred just a touch more flavor and depth to really make this one of my favorite Oktoberfests. It was pretty good, but I couldn't shake the feeling that it could have been just a bit better. Maybe it wasn't quite as bready or malty as some, maybe it was the slightly lighter color, I don't know. But it didn't quite stack up to the best of the best.

Reminds me of a German style Ofest. Nice toasted maltiness with a spicy/herbal hop backing....medium body with a spitzier feel and dry finish. Above average but not one I would likely buy again.

12oz bottle. Served in a snifter glass.

Pours a lighter amber body, light orange hue, one finger white head, short retention, bits of lacing. Smells of toffee, nuttiness, bread, touch of phenol, light grassy notes. Flavour is a bit less grassy and on the sweeter side, toffee, bread, biscuit, nut, with a mild grassy/floral finish. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, crisp with a slightly sticky, substantial body. Good carbonation. A solid example of an Oktoberfest.
