Poured into a small snifter. Pours pitch black with a fine half finger light brown head the color of cocoa. Mild aroma of toasted dark malt, chocolate, hints of oak, vanilla. Flavor is a quite mellow, well blended toasted malt, chocolate, vanilla, wood; earthy and only a hint of whiskey. Medium bodied. A nice barrel aged stout that is somewhat understated, but only because the flavors are all so melded that it's hard to pick out individual flavor notes. Its time in the barrel has blended everything together nicely. I might have wished for a bit more whiskey flavor, but there is a pleasant earthy oakiness that marks this as a barrel aged stout. Mellow and enjoyable. The ABV is invisible.

On-tap at Mugs Alehouse, Brooklyn, NY

A: The beer is jet black in color. It poured with a quarter finger high tan head that died down, leaving only bits of lacing on the surface and sides of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of oak are present in the nose along with notes of licorice.
T: The taste mostly follows the smell and has lots of oaky flavors along with notes of licorice and hints of roasted malts.
M: It feels medium-bodied on the palate and has a low to moderate amount of carbonation.
O: The oak barrel aging makes this beer quite different when compared to other Russian Imperial Stouts. It drinks well because no alcohol is perceptible.

Pours a dark chocolate color with a full, plump yellowish-brown head.

Smells like a daycare. Spit-up, half eaten animal crackers, environment of poopy diapers, sour milk and oatmeal. Oh man this is, wow. An enigma.

The initial flavor is like sweet cherry-anise candy, and then it fades back to reveal pure alcohol, belgian yeast, rotten corpses, lollipops soaked in bourbon and then soaked in dish soap; finally an alcohol burn, and pure garbage. I literally shivered and got goosebumps as I drank this. The 10% ABV is not hidden at all, in fact it may even be pronounced.

Feel is hot, super hot, and dry. Light creaminess behind that.

Today has not been a good day for beers. This is like the worst stout in the entire world. Absolutely horrible. Barf.
