Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a medium coppery amber with a healthy two finger white head with great retention and sheets of lacing. Aroma of biscuit malt and Eastern style hops, lightly citrus and floral. Flavor is crystal malt with initial somewhat muted citrus and light resiny hops that seem to hold out on flavor until a long, oddly complex finish that reveals citrus, resiny pine and grassy hops flavors and a surprisingly strong hop bitterness. Medium bodied with active carbonation. IPAs with mild malt and intense hops finishes without immediate herbal flavors are normally not a version I favor, but I really enjoyed the finish on this one. The hops and body are reminiscent of better European and East Coast style IPAs and this is a nice one of that style. Another nice ale from Reubens.

Poured from a can from a six pack purchased at the brewery on my recent trip to Seattle. A beautiful yellow gold with a one finger white head, some lacing but not a ton. Lots of bubbles come up through the glass. Immediately noticed the aromas of lemon and grapefruit, with a good amount of pine and orange mixed in as well. Flavor is similar with a tad more pine and lemon. Mouthfeel is smooth. Overall this is a very well crafted IPA.

Can from ABV.

A crystal clear light yellow with a dense, off-white head, this looks great. The nose is decent. Quite hoppy with an earthy and minty note. There's also a strange onion/garlic note present that's rather unpleasant. This is particularly noticeable on the palate, where the onion and garlic, when coupled with the mint and earth have a more savory flavor. Drying, mildly astringent on the finish, this is rather unpleasant.

22oz into a tulip. Pours a hazy straw color w/ a frothy bright white head, some patchy lace, moderate carb.

Aroma is clean citrusy hops and neutral pale malt. Smells kinda like orange juice.

Taste is dry, neutral pale malt and citrusy, slightly spicy PNW hops.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied and nicely rounded. Drinkable and refreshing, mildly bitter finish.

Overall a very enjoyable, but unremarkable IPA. Easy to drink and not think about, which is about perfect for summer.

Can of unknown date into a tulip.

L: Pours slightly hazy golden with 1+ finger of medium density white head that had moderate retention and left spotted lacing.

S: Nose is floral forward, then some earthiness, and citrus in tow.

T: Follows nose well, perhaps with more influence of citrus. Finishes with moderate bitterness and astringency, both clear the palate quickly.

F: Lighter bodied with medium carbonation. Very easy drinking, appropriate for a summer IPA.

O: I think I'd look elsewhere for a lake/river/lawnmower beer (i.e., Modern Times Fortunate Island), but the beer was bright and easy drinking and definitely worth a try.

Color is more golden than amber. In fact it looks just like Stella in the Stella goblet with the pure white enthusiastic foam. Some green melon in the aroma with a hint of pine. Spritzy on the tongue.

Toasty but thin malt flavor. Just slightly sweet. Hoping for some fruit but it evaporates. You'd think "Summer" meant light, but no, this is the usual target ABV. It's not very thick in the mouth, so maybe that's the point.

Not very interesting, but this is at least a competent IPA. Plenty drinkable but thin and sharp. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at The Market in Anacortes, Wash.

Cloudy amber with a big rocky cream colored head. Head is very persistent and leaves big chunks of sticky lacing. Aroma is bright citrus. The can is unmarked but it smells very fresh. Taste is hop forward with hints of orange and big grapefruit. Mildly bitter, medium light body.
