12 oz can dated 4/26, about 6 or 7 weeks old

This is excellent. Very clean and refreshing. Pretty much everything I want in an american made pilsner.

12oz can, purchase place and price forgotten. According to the date on the bottom, it was canned on September 20, 2017. It kinda got overlooked in the fridge for a while.

Poured into a Jever glass, this was a clear, pale golden color, with a decent off-white head. Good retention and lace.

Floral hops and crackery malts greeted the workers at the olfactory.

Mildly bitter, grassy hops lead the charge. Cracker-like malt flavor stays in the background. Mildly crisp and clean at the swallow.

Fairly light bodied. While the mouthfeel is mostly on target, being crisp and clean, I wish the former element was a little more prominent. Then again, it might have been if consumed earlier.

Frankly, when I noticed the abv percentage (5.4), I sighed a little, as I prefer a less-is-more approach to the style, and generally prefer them no higher than 5%. But this isn't the usual amped-up, overboozed and overhopped pils you generally find this side of the Atlantic (and especially in the PNW). It is just as subtly flavorful as it's European style-mates. I will probably buy this in bulk this summer, now that Reuben's is distributed here.

From a can. Pale yellow, good lacy head, average retention. Very grassy smell of pilsner style hops. Effervescent. Excellent Czech style pilsner.

Pours a beautifully clear golden yellow color with a finger of dense, white bubbles on top that linger.

The aroma is clean. Biscuit-like malts, floral aromatic hops. Appropriate for the style, but not very strong.

The taste follows the nose, but with a bit more in the delivery. Very nice malt - biscuits and very slightly sweet. The hops are floral and lightly spicy reflecting the characteristics of Saaz. There is a decent level of bitterness that holds throughout the taste. Clean, quick-hitting flavor, certainly nothing amiss for a Czech-style pils.

The feel is medium bodied, and carbonated well so the effect is very crisp feeling beer.

Overall, this is a very good example of the style - it stays true to form, delivers a clean-tasting, highly drinkable beer. Recommended.

OK, I usually avoid pilseners. But to accommodate my visiting German relatives, I skipped the IPAs, and picked up a six pack of this. I was happily surprised. Not surprised that Reuben's make good beers, but surprised at how flavorful I found it. It's not boring in the least.

The appearance is golden, with a nice white head. The aroma/taste are clean, biscuity, with a nice hop finish. It's got good carbonation, contributing to a very crisp mouthfeel. It's a great summer beer, very refreshing. I'll be getting another six pack. And my German relatives liked it too.
