Went there at open (noon) on a Saturday with my wife. Had a pint, chatted with the brewer. It's right on the waterfront, so it's a neat location. Had a row of pinball machines. Lots of neat décor (mostly nautical in some way, some beer and cigars). Decent selection of beers, some creative and some standard. My pilsner was tasty but not very much like a pilsner. My wife's kettle sour was an interesting beer based on a dubbel.

Location is nice but as others noted, is in a rundown strip mall. Place is pirate themed and a little cheesy for me. Gave two beers a shot, a wit and AIPA, preferred the wit but both were not that great. Servers were attentive and just fine. Not a big selection to choose from but I didn't have time to try a third. Would hope after being added in 2012 their beers would be more dialed in but still leave something to be desired.

As other reviewers have noted, it is on the water and the bar is spacious. The overall vibe is pretty cool. I was here in the afternoon. It was pretty quiet then. The staff are friendly and helpful. One reviewer offered the critique that there was only one house beer on tap when they were there. Well that was in 2013. When I was there two + years later, there were something like 5-8 house beers. The three or four that I tried were pretty good. I especially liked their "Rabbit" IPA. They brew some pretty solid beers.

Great theme as it is on the water.
Several selections from the brewery from dark to light.
Cask Selection.
Multiple guest taps.
I will go back.

A: I discovered this place as the endcap of a rundown strip mall on the water directly across from the Navy yard. Inside....Pirate theme everywhere. Arrr, a little overboard but thats just me. Nice long wooden bar with TVs above in direct view of the taphandles and the kitchen is rather exposed as well. Off to the left you can see the water as if its getting ready to flow into the establishment, rather calming. Arrr, then you see a dead pirate on the ceiling, Arrr. Plenty of seating here. Just a little different. Arrr.

Q: The beer was not up to my standards. The only house beer, brewed on premise was the IPA which I rated. Guest handles were meh but I do know in the poast they have had some killer guest handles. From what I understand they brew on a 3bbl system which supplies the only house beer

S: Staff was nice enough. No major issues. The guy behind the bar was friendly and talkative.

S: Poor. It is a startup brewery, yes, however, one below average house beer? Step it up.

Food. No try, I really just wanted to go.However, the menu provides an interesting history lesson.
