This double IPA/Imperial IPA is currently on tap at Southern Sun in S. Boulder.

The color is a peachy pink hue, at least that's how it looked with the bright autumn sun coming through the front door glass.
It's served in a goblet-style glass and, no, they won't fill your
growler with it ;-).
Great creamy head although it's shortlived.

All the hops, citrus and complex piney aromas burst up your nose,
but in a good way.

With that kind of great aroma, the taste doesn't disappoint.
Truly great.

Overall, it's one that I'm always going to check for, next time
I'm in Mountain Sun or Southern Sun.

Well, this is a damn fine beer. I've had it several times and was surprised to not see it on BA. Sooo...went out last night and had one...two... Notes:

This beer glows. Ruby orange, bright. Clean. Great head of soft yet sturdy foam.
Citrus, pine, soft biscuit aroma. It's strong. Smells like a DIPA.
Mellow grapefruit, pineapple and vague pine taste. Mouth watering. Malt has hint of roast, but overall soft biscuit.
Nice bite to this one without the syrupy-ness of some DIPAs. Crisp and clean. This is a great beer. An 8oz serving is a good idea, but sure doesn't last long.

Great great beer. This has been my favorite Imperial IPA to date. The smooth bitterness had my mouth watering for more and more but the alcohol content held me back :)

Served in a wine glass, even a girls who claim they hate beer would love this one...

This is the Mountain Sun’s take on a massive double IPA. It shows up at the MS locations here and there, but usually not for long.
Arrives a deep golden color. Carbonation is pretty mild, but you can see all of the crazy hop oils suspended in the light once it settles a bit.
Big tropical fruit and citrus rind on the nose. There’s no mistaking what you’ve gotten yourself into with this one.
The flavor profile reminds me a bit of Dreadnaught and older batches of Maharaja. Peaches and pineapple up-front, followed by a pine resin and mild grapefruit. The finish has a mild herbal bitterness, but the fruit character and (non-bitter) hop character mirrors it.
Bold and flavorful, this brew matches some of the finest DIPA’s around. It’s definitely more on the fruity side compared to some of the more bitter and dank takes out there, but it speaks to my palate better. It also makes for a fine paring with hearty sandwiches, which is convenient considering where it’s at.
An excellent beer that’s always worth seeking out whenever any Mountain Sun location has it. If you’re a fan of the east coast big DIPA’s, I think this one will speak to you.

On-tap at brewery

I believe this is their seasonal imperial IPA; it's almost red in color; crisp looking; light lacing; very small head; very grapefruity on the nose; a little sugary on the nose as well; this beer tastes like fruity pebbles; good and easy hop taste, but not overly so; really soft in the mouth; I don't notice any overly heavy malt flavor; the beer lingers; hints of anise with a mouth swish; slightly bitter too; the beer sticks to your throat long after a sip; this is a good beer.

This shit is good! On tap at Vine Street Pub, 8oz $4.5 ~9%ABV. It smelled like a delicious bouquet of hops. the taste was citrus, hops, grass, herbs, delicious, delicious hops. I am a sucker for a well done IPA and I can see why this won the Alpha King challenge. If you have the opprotunity, get this you won;t be disappointed!

yeah this is a really bomb double ipa, i wish they would make it a little more frequently than they do. its loaded with citrus from orange to lemon to asian grapefruit, this thing is juice bomb, but its not without its roots in the west coast style, oily and sort of thick, as sweet as it is bitter, and just dank and resinous all the way through. hard to not just adore this one, it has a lot going on. good clarity, tall white head, and an impressive radiance to it, sunny orange and attractive. the nose is amazing, tangerine zest and heavy hops throughout, must be some citra in here, but there is a lot more than that happening, something far less delicate, and it really works super well. the flavor is a lot like the nose, drivey with the hops all the way through, but fruit driven to my palate. tangerine again, but more bitter here now, lasting on the tongue. texturally cool to, bigger than a lot of them, but no booze at all, and not as sweet later on as it tastes. dynamic and distinct, it easy to get into trouble with this one. deserves to be mentioned among the better strong india pales made in colorado. these guys just plain dont get enough credit sometimes...
