Dark reddish brown with plenty of foam in the New Belgium snifter. Rather chalky with a bitter, tannic finish. Some cocoa taste along with the charred grain. Dry and on the flat side, flavorwise. Plenty of spritz in the mouthfeel, however
Watery body. An odd vegetable aroma. A quite drinkable but somehow bland dark brew. Mineral aftertaste with some wet wood. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at BottleWorks in Seattle.

Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown appearing nearly opaque in the glass, with a half finger light brown head with good retentioin and nice lacing. Aroma of toasted malt, milk chocolate and malted milk balls. Flavor is lightly charred, toasted malt, bitter cofffee, milk chocolate, lightly nutty. Finishes with toasted malt, char, boiled coffee and light hop bitterness. Medium bodied. Not intensely flavored, but a nice charry, toasted malt flavor and light chocolate produce a pleasant American style stout. Nothing really stands out, but a good take on a stout on the smoky, toasted side of the spectrum.
