Style: Rye Beer

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 6.10%

Availability: Rotating

Notes / Commercial Description:
This Amber ale was brewed with Rye and four American hop varieties. Starting malty with a bit of spice, this beer finishes with a dry hop bite. The rye imparts an earthy quality to the first sip, balanced by a sweetness from the malt. All of the hop additions were carefully selected to give it first a heavy herbal aroma, followed by a fruity, spicy flavor with moderate bitterness.

Light brown in color. Murky in appearance. It's an amber. Drinks more like a brown ale though. Lots of earthy malt and nut dryness. It's ok, bordering on not good.

Dirty copper color. Clear. Moderate head which leaves a lattice of lace.

Toasted malt with a light sweetness to the nose.

Borderline brown ale, IPA blend. Plenty of hop but there's a good deeply toasted Crystal malt component. Warm, caramel with black pepper finish.

This beer is so smooth and delicious. It appeals to the masses, and the brewers are super rad!

Sweet malt and pleasant herbal-pine hops so nicely balanced. Dark rusty mahogany color with a sturdy cream colored head and nice lacing. The aroma focuses on the malty backbone, sweet but subtle. The hops come out in the flavor but remain subdued and the medium-plus body delivers a luscious, frothy feel. Much better than your average amber/red ale.

Bottle. Poured a ruddy brown color. Not much head. Cloudy with particulate. Aroma was mostly malty and quite fruity. Almost like a strawberry preserve scent. The flavor was mushed up strawberry jam. I really tasted a bunch of berry jam. I didn't really enjoy that. I did not pick up much character from the rye. The overly sweet, fruity element to this beer turned me off. Medium bodied with a lasting aftertaste. One bottle of this was enough.
