Poured from a growler from a tap earlier today into a tulip.
A: Pours a mostly opaque dark amber brown with a finger or two worth of off white head. Cant really see any visible carbonation in this cloudy brew. Head leaves a spot or two of lacing.
S: Citrus hops are the first thing I notice, a sweet malt counteracts the bitterness. Good hop aroma that entices you to take a sip.
T: Nice approach to an IPA here. Quite a citrus and fruity aspect from the hops as well as a complimenting bitterness. Malt sweetness is fairly dominate and perhaps a tad strong for this style.
M: Medium body with ample carbonation. A tad sticky from the hops and sweetness. Does have a nectar like mouthfeel that some seek out in their IPA's. Comes across heavier than it really is.
Overall I would drink this again, has a great hop profile and a fresh taste. Have to support the local scene and Fairport Brewing is showing they can contend.
