Enjoyed at brewery, from notes
Deep black, not much head, thick look, and as the beer is consumed oily legs linger on glass lazily.
Smell is full of bourbon goodness, vanilla and alcohol spice, hints of licorice, roast, caramel, coconut, and even a bit of fruit, sorta plum or maybe blueberry, all appear in the aroma as the beer goes along.
Roasty goodness takes more of a role in the taste, but all the flavors of the aroma are present in a magnificent balance. It is hard to exaggerate just how delicious this is. The roast is a great counterpoint to the sweet and barrel elements, it is just right. As it warms the fruit and licorice come forward more. End of sip is roasty that is never acrid, just sweet enough, just dry enough.
Excellent mouthfeel, very low carb, highly viscous and not a bit of cloy, super clean finish, what more could you ask?
Rushing Duck has just kept improving as they go along, lately hitting home run after home run. The pleasure these wonderful folks have provided since opening is huge, and appreciated

Winter 2017-2018 release. Poured from 750 ML bottle into Rushing Duck Belgian glass. It pours almost jet black with dark walnut hues when held to the light, and almost a finger of creamy, cafe au lait colored head and lacing. Lots of barrel on the nose, along with molasses, burnt coffee, dark chocolate, brown sugar, and nuts. I tasted the bourbon immediately and it is warming but not overpowering. It nicely compliments the molasses, coffee, and black cherry and plum notes that really add to the character. All of the tastes blend beautifully. This stout has a silky, moderately viscous mouth feel with light carbonation, and the 11.2% ABV is amazingly well hidden. Overall, this is simply a superb BA Russian Imperial Stout. Rushing Duck is particularly adept with brewing high gravity, high ABV beers that are surprisingly delicate and where the barrel compliments the other tastes without overwhelming them.
