This brewery is a 10 minute walk from my house, and I remember when they were first getting started, so I'm unabashedly biased. They love to experiment, and have recently opened a second taproom.

Hole in the wall, kinda place...we had to ask a local for some directions to actually find the place....simple room with bar to the left and a few high "tables" to the right as you enter....samples, 12 oz pours and growler fills available...friendly women behind the bar, always a plus, tasty beer and casual, down to earth atmosphere...was told they are about to expand into a very nearby building...worthy spot to visit for a tasty beer and a growler fill

A little difficult to find being located at the back of the building downstairs. Tasting room is small but everyone was friendly and the bartender and owner were both very talkative and helpful. Beers were good, price was right and I was happy to have stopped here. Will stop again if I'm ever in the area.

What a cool place! Chester, NY, itself is an interesting little town and the brewery is located in a very old industrial building. The tasting room is small but very lively and the patrons are fun to talk to. I've also been there when no one else was in the tasting room and was able to really talk beer with the bartender; a truly fun experience. The beers, of course, are outstanding. All in all, visiting Rushing Duck is a really fun experience and a tasty one, as well!

Updating my review. I've been coming here since they opened. With the addition of Duck Inn to compliment the original Duck Out, they keep getting better. Now offering up to 20 beers and ciders. High quality beers at an affordable price. They are always experimenting with new styles and flavors. You can't ask for anything better as a beer lover. The addition of the food truck is a nice addition as well.

Loved this place. Stopped in on my way back from Bear Mountain. This is a tasting room only that allows for full pours, samples and growler fills. Small and intimate with a few high top tables and a room in the back that I did not enter so I can't comment. Super friendly staff and everything is very reasonably priced. There are about 10 taps and every thing was delicious. War Elephant and Bauli Saison really stuck out. I cannot wait to get back up there.

Love this place and the kind folks who work there, most especially Mr. Hitchcock who owns and is brewmaster and his wife Nikki who are just stellar human beings. The beer is great, reasonably priced, what more could you ask? War Elephant is on my list of top 5 IIPA made in this country, and he brews a decent variety of styles with care and skill.
The tasting room is small, but set up nicely, with tables and bar seats along the back and a nice wooden bar fronting the taps. You can see the brewery through a doorway, and the smells of the fermenting beers is wonderful to experience while drinking. Beer geek friendly atmosphere is just the icing on the cake.
So glad I live close enough to visit regularly, although I kinda wish I lived next door.

An amazing gem of a brewery!
Hard to find but worth the effort. The tap room is bare bones but very welcoming. The selection was excellent - 9 draughts, including a couple of one-offs: a variation on the coffee porter with candy cap mushrooms added (the result is a maple-flavored earthiness that really worked with the coffee) and a coconut augmented version of the Ded Moroz.
My only criticism is the lack of food but this might be a legal issue since they only have a tasting room. That said, patrons are free to bring their own food.
I look forward to a full-fledged brewpub in the not too distant future.

Reviewed this before but something happened to my review. Anyway, I love visiting this place and if I lived closer I'd be here a few times a month. I love their beers and they're extremely nice people. I hear they have recently expanded. Can't wait to go back.

RD has recently expanded their facility and now occupies 2 building at their site. The old taproom is a very small place with a standing room bar to the left of the entry that will belly-up maybe 8 people and a few small tables on the far wall. The place has a dankish basement clubhouse feel. They usually have 8 to 10 beers on tap (tap list varies between the 2 places). The other building is a garage like structure with high ceilings and two 12 or 14 foot tall door that when opened give the place an airy laid-back feel. Large standing bar opposite the garage doors bellies-up a dozen with about a dozen tables in rows about the remainder of the room, and 5 or 6 tables on a side porch to the left of the bar. Again, 10 or so beers on tap here also: a very solid and varied offering of different styles. Food truck on the right side of building (I'm not sure if it's rotating - and I have never tried the food there.) There is often a lively crowd on weekend, and it is definitely a fun place to visit.
