De color oscuro, con un dedo de espuma de baja retención. De cuerpo y carbonatación media. Aroma a malta, café y chocolate. En boca es ligeramente dulce con un final de frutos rojos.
Otro acierto de La Sagra.

2015 vintage purchased from Chocolate and Vines in Rochester, NY.
This one pours with the color of heavily-syruped coca cola, with that thick brown appearance, with a very small head, and no lacing.
This smells like mild oxidation - that slight cardboard and lots of sherry like sweet wine flavors, with caramel, booze, tea, peach, and dark fruit.
The age has seemed to mellow a previously intense booziness. There's still a slightly leafy and bitter booziness here, but it's fairly mild. There's syrupy stone fruit peachiness, some fruity sherry, caramel, and bready malt, along with toffee and chocolate. I wish there was a touch less oxidation here, but it's still a tasty beverage anyway.
This is slightly syrupy, with a lower level of carbonation. It's definitely a slower sipper.
Though the age is definitely showing here, this is still a pretty cool beer to try.

30 Agosto 2016. From elcervecero. In Teku glass. Watching Los Soprano 2x05. Lots of chocolate and some pleasant alcoholish touch. Superb nose. Easy drinking in spite of its well hidden high ABV. A bit watery. Nearly no foam
16 Febrero 2020. Nueva etiqueta. De Carrefour. En copa Teku. Jugando a My Brother Rabbit. Alguna nota ahumada al principio aunque luego desaparece. Queda un reconfortante perfil suavemente alcoholico con bastante presencia maltosa

A- pours dark auburn-brown, turns black and completely opaque in my glass. Little yeast clumps floating even though it was carefully poured. Thick, tight foam persists throughout the glass and laces well
S- tart, green apple type sweetness. Not a lot else IMO. Not getting any of the chocolate/caramel/coffee the label reports in the nose
T- taste is more in line with a porter than a barley wine in my opinion. Nice bitterness with notes of dark chocolate, dark sweet fruit in the form of plum and raisin. That's the good... The bad is I also get some off, wet cardboard when I'm really analyzing it. Not boozy at all for the 10.4%
M- long, bitter finish. Thick and rich on the tongue.
O- leaves a bit to be desired, but I will probably purchase again. probably the best Spanish beer I've had. At this point that doesn't mean much, but hopefully in the future it will.

Poured into a Reuben's Brew snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing nearly opaque in the glass, with a half finger light tan head with good retention and lacing. Aroma of dark lightly tosted malt, dark and light stone fruit, slightly sour. Flavor is well melded caramel and lightly toasted malt, dark fresh and dried fruit, light cocoa, hints of nuts. Flavor is milder than expected, but very nicely balanced. Medium bodied with light creaminess. An unusual take on the barleywine style, probably closest in profile to an English barleywine. Really seems to be an hybrid between a sweet milk stout and an imperial brown ale. The malt and nutty flavors are dominant rather than dark dried fruit typical of barleywines. The flavor is deceptively mild, except that it covers the very high ABV wonderfully. Smooth, tasty and unusual. Glad I had a chance to try this.
