From a bottle, pours black with a thin white head.
The smell is sweet malt, chocolate powder, roast and a little smoke. The chocolate dominates overall here. The flavor is more chocolate, roasted oats, bitter hops and a fair amount of booze. This drinks very big for only a standard porter. The alcohol gives some sweetness to the dry backbone. The mouthfeel is good, but a bit too carbonated. I enjoy the bitter clean finish.

On smell alone, I thought this was a nut brown. Once I tasted it, though, the smokey flavor of the malt came through. It was not what I'd call "robust", but it had just enough body without being too heavy, and was a perfect complement to our Easter dinner. This is a step up from what I've had from Bolero Snort to date, and this kind of effort bodes well for their future.
