Creamscicle pours a hazy and cloudy orange color with not much head. Mellow sweet aromas hints of orange and vanilla.. Flavor is mellow creamscicle, vanilla and orange, with a mellow hop flavor near the end. Good body and feel. Overall, pretty good, sweet and bitterness don't mix well.

Can. Had this and their Key Lime Pie beer. Didn’t enjoy this one as much. Hazy orange with floating sediment. Strong nose. The creamsicle flavor was definitely there. I don’t think I love how it was presented in the beer though. A little to abrasive.

16 oz can poured into an imperial nonic.

An insane amount of yeast chunks float around in this. Golden orange. Short head. It's ugly as hell.

Peach, pineapple, mango, candy sugar, and vanilla.

Orange zest, navel orange, dank, and pine resin. Peach, pineapple, and overripe mango. Light lactose and candy sugar sweetness along with some vanilla. ...And yes, a quick taste of orange creamsicle before it finishes off bitter with grapefruit zest, orange zest, and dried pine needle.

Medium bodied, smooth, sticky, moderately bitter, and off-dry.

A nice IPA with a glimpse of orange creamsicle mid-palate. This is done perfectly as it doesn't play into the novelty that much.

Canned 04/17/18

Appearance - Pours with a slight haze and golden orange in color with a fair amount of sediment floating about. White, half finger width head that displays decent retention before dying down to a thin, broken layer of suds and a thin ring around the edge of the glass.

Smell - Sweet orange, vanilla, some skin/pithy character and fair grainy malts.

Taste - Follows the nose. Moderate, even keeled notes of orange and vanilla upfront and throughout. Some bitter 'dirty orange' character soon follows suit, as pith and dank notes show firmly. That earthiness fades a bit toward the finish, allowing for a semi-sweet finish.

Mouthfeel - Medium-bodied, with fair, tingly carbonation. Slick, slightly creamy texture with an easy, slightly dry finish.

Overall - A solid 'orange creamsicle' IPA, though when presented with that idea I don't expect as much earthy or pithy bitterness as this presented. That said, it;s tasty. Similar in many ways to Track 7's California Dreamin' from a flavor standpoint.

On tap in a pint glass.

Pours a slightly hazed, like a chill haze, yellow-orange color with a 1-plus F of white froth that levels to a patch of cream. Lots of lacing.

Modest, at best, aroma. Some orange and sweet vanilla cream.

Lots of orange variety: candied, fresh peeled, juice, etc.

Light body. Juicy. Mild hop tang.

If there's more to this brew than all-in orange, I missed it.

The smoothie IPA is all the rage and every brewery seems to be frantic trying to one-up all others with aspects of creaminess, fruitiness, succulence and richness. The brewers of Bolero Snort ups the ante with an orange flavored hop bomb with the copious use of lactose, vanilla and orange peel.

OVB Creamsicle IPA pours with a turbid and visually dense matte finish. A frothy meringue greets the rim while aromas of citrus and cream tease the senses with exactly those thoughts of orange creamsicle, but with a curiously herbal back note. Sweet and pastry-like on the front of the tongue, its fruity sweetness teases the tastebuds with sherbet, pulled candy and a richness of angel food cake.

The flavors continue to blossom across the middle palate as its sweetness slowly recedes and its citrus flavor continues to expand. Radiant and ripe flavors of tangerine and blood orange fuse with secondary flavors of lemon, papaya and mango. As the malts continue to back away, it takes the sweetness away from the fruit impressions and the herbal complement from hops get the opportunity to develop a chive, hemp and overall grassy tone late in taste.

Medium bodied and staying creamy, the beer's texture is unwavering. Where IPA normally trends dry, crisp and refreshing, OVB continues to bring a creamy fruitiness with green tea and a gin-like spice for a full complement of smoothie taste from front to finish. A brief aftertaste of vanilla and citronella is in the vein of both orange cream soda and furniture polish.

DATE: April 20, 2018... OCCASION: surviving the boys' first dodgeball, and resting before the Colonials' opening day... GLASSWARE: HopDevil nonick... pours a golden yellow body, swirling with a colony of tiny bubbles within a swamplike haze... a frothy white head sports a strong lacing akin to a fence that finishes in clouds... first scent is an aromatic orange cream treat, thin cracker, lemon, ginger, and lactic milk--a tantalizing introduction... smooth, creamy, lactic and lingering... almost crunchy at the teeth, with a zest that shakes the palate... the medium-bodied presence, paired with the taste, makes for a highly drinkable IPA, and one worthy of a special release... vanilla, orange, ginger, allspice, lemon, and creamy milk make for a delectable ale.. a bold, adventurous one-off that I could drink a growler of, moreso than a grunt... I am coming to appreciate this brewery and am thankful for its availability...

Canned on 2/20/18, reviewed on 2/23/18. A lot of hazy and/or New England style IPAs have that "Orange Creamsicle" look, so I guess Bolero Snort figured "why not the whole package?" This beer, too, has that look. Cloudy, with sediment in suspension. Two-finger, fluffy head that hangs around a while and leaves some really nice lacing. The usual citric (orange and grapefruit rind) and floral IPA aroma is joined by what can best be described as vanilla ice cream.

Orange flavor was readily apparent on the first sip. It doesn't really smack you in the face, though, nor does it have an artificial taste to it. Hints of the vanilla and lactose on the finish. Low to moderate citrusy bitterness, and fairly dry. Mouthfeel is a little bit more rich than a typical IPA -- it's simultaneously creamy and a bit prickly.

Whether you'll like this depends on your tolerance for "flavored" or "novelty" IPAs. In this case, I thought everything came together nicely. It's still an IPA, first and foremost, and it's a good one.

2018 edition canned 2/20/2018
Opened 2/22/2018 so... yea fresh.

Look: hazy orange slight white head on my pour.
Aroma: for this brew you first smell the vanilla then the orange.
Taste: yes you are drinking an orange cream pop. The hops are equal to the vanilla and the orange. Hop is not overtaking the rest of the flavor it is there “with” the other flavors.
Feel: As always feel is private ! So back off! ARRGGHHH.

You want an orange cream pop IPA? Here, you GET an orange cream pop IPA.
It’s that simple. It’s not trying to be anything else.
IMHOpinion Bolero does it very well.
And this year’s batch is no exception.
And thats my review

Pours a cloudy orange yellow color with a thin foamy head. Head retention is decent. Lacing is good. Definite creamsicle aroma with some piney resin. Creamsicle taste ending in a more bitter piney resin. More lactose at the end. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Not a bad beer. Interesting, though.
