One of DRAFT Magazines Top 25 New Beers of 2016 - OVB is childhood summer memories in a glass this silky IPA is conditioned atop orange zest & Madagascar vanilla beans before an intense hopping of Citra and Cascade. Sweet vanilla and orange aromatics with a fluffy mouthfeel and enough bitterness to remind you its an IPA first.

The smoothie IPA is all the rage and every brewery seems to be frantic trying to one-up all others with aspects of creaminess, fruitiness, succulence and richness. The brewers of Bolero Snort ups the ante with an orange flavored hop bomb with the copious use of lactose, vanilla and orange peel.
OVB Creamsicle IPA pours with a turbid and visually dense matte finish. A frothy meringue greets the rim while aromas of citrus and cream tease the senses with exactly those thoughts of orange creamsicle, but with a curiously herbal back note. Sweet and pastry-like on the front of the tongue, its fruity sweetness teases the tastebuds with sherbet, pulled candy and a richness of angel food cake.
The flavors continue to blossom across the middle palate as its sweetness slowly recedes and its citrus flavor continues to expand. Radiant and ripe flavors of tangerine and blood orange fuse with secondary flavors of lemon, papaya and mango. As the malts continue to back away, it takes the sweetness away from the fruit impressions and the herbal complement from hops get the opportunity to develop a chive, hemp and overall grassy tone late in taste.
Medium bodied and staying creamy, the beer's texture is unwavering. Where IPA normally trends dry, crisp and refreshing, OVB continues to bring a creamy fruitiness with green tea and a gin-like spice for a full complement of smoothie taste from front to finish. A brief aftertaste of vanilla and citronella is in the vein of both orange cream soda and furniture polish.

Served in a goblet from the can.
Appearance: Cloudy orange tinted yellow body with a white head rising maybe half a finger's length off the body.
Smell: Orange creamy aroma. Smells a bit like a orange cake a i made a few months ago.
Taste: Sweet tangerine and creamy body. Light hop feel to the beer, seriously feels like a pastry IPA if there was one.
Mouth: Soft carbonation with a very sticky body. Definitely throws a punch to the palates.
Overall: Great brew, sweet and smooth...might by a little extra on the lactose but fine for sharing.

12 oz. draft...hazy light orange with a creamy white head...strong but not overwhelming vanilla aroma with a little hoppiness...vanilla and orange flavor is predominant with some slight hoppy bitterness on the back end...it definitely tastes like a creamsicle at first, but in my opinion with more and more sips it tastes more and more like an orange flavored chewable aspirin.

Pours fairly clear with minimal haze, appropriate white fluffy head. Aroma is citrus and vanilla. Flavor is pretty sweet but not cloying; creamy vanilla, orange, hops add more citrus and a nice little bitter finish to help balance out all the sweetness from the milk sugar and vanilla. Has an unusually creamy mouthfeel. Overall a fun beer, a bit on the sweet side, I could drink a 4 pack of this once a summer...

16 oz can into tulip. Dated 9/25/18 I think not a good stamp.
Look is very nice milkshake of golden orange. Nose is orange and tropical fruit. Taste is cream sickle and then ending with little bitterness as IPA. Feel is nice and medium creamy. Overall, very nice IPA. Can't drink a bunch at a time but will throw one in for a change. Would buy again.
