Look: Nice mahogany blown pour with a slightly off-white head that was 1/2 inch tall then melts to a thin ply that raises up on the sides to meet the glass.
Smell and Taste: Maple Syrup up front with smoky malt notes.
Feel: Dry and seltzer like. Which is probably a typical Brown Ale.
Overall: I'm mainly a Stout kinda guy. Picked this one up to try something different. Pretty good brew but I think I will go back to my Stouts.

A: pours a very, dark brown body with some lighter hues with a small, off white head with decent retention and lacing
S: strong, coffee smell with hints of burnt toffee and some maple syrup in the nose
T: strong, coffee taste; hints of some maple syrup, sweet burnt toffee and some warming alcohol in the back of the palette.
M: medium body, towards the lighter side, and pretty crisp
O: decent mouthfeel and taste combo; well done brown ale

Single, 16 ounce can copped from Route 22 in Union. Pours a dark, viscous hue with moderate frothing. Assertive aroma replete with hints of chocolate and molasses. Not bad.

Bolero Snort Brewery "Moountie"
1 Pint can coded "10/2/19" and sampled on 11/11/19
$4.49 @ Total Wine & More, Cherry Hill, NJ
Notes via stream of consciousness: Contract brewed by Wyndridge Farm Brewing in Dallastown, PA. "Cherrywood smoked brown ale with coffee and maple syrup". As might be expected of a brown ale, it's brown in color beneath a inch and a half of creamy khaki colored foam. It's It's quite hazy, even cloudy, and if I had to call out a specific descriptor for the brown body I'd call it dark mahogany. The aroma displays the coffee and maple syrup nicely along with some cocoa from the malt. Unfortunately I'm not finding any smoke but that's OK. On to the taste... as the aroma suggests the coffee and maple syrup are nicely intertwined but both of the flavors also stand out on their own. The cocoa powder note remains and maybe even becomes a little like milk chocolate - yes, I think so - and the smoke is a mildly phenolic addition that doesn't seem to have really helped in any way. Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe it's contribution to the whole is there but I just can't see the benefit without tasting a version that doesn't have it. There's also a touch of yeasty fruitiness to it which is quite nice and adds a little bit more complexity. It's a little bit sweet upfront, as it should be, but a balancing bitterness and the roastiness of the coffee help to dry it out in the finish. The chocolate then lingers for some time afterwards but it's not really sweet, and it never builds on the palate. In the mouth it's medium bodied and dextrinous with a moderate carbonation level that leaves it nicely smooth. In the end this is a really nice beer that rides the fence between being a dessert beer and an almost everyday beer. It's certainly worth trying.

-Cherrywood smoked brown ale with coffee and maplesyrup.
A: Beautiful plum-mahogany pour has a respectable one inch khaki head and small crevices. A nice hold and steady rise of effervesce. Really love the coloring and highlights here that come from back lighting.
S: Coffee and burnt cigarettes, I am guessing from the smoked cherry wood, just not as enticing as I had hoped or envisioned. Burnt tobacco, soft ash, and watery syrup, all of average intentions. Soft fruitiness of dark cherries. Truth be told, being a non-smoker I was not turned off by the cigarette like tobacco presence, just found it odd, preferring a more smokey wood/campfire aspect, but to each their own.
T: The flavor fairs a bit better, smokey ash, and dried tobacco with some dark fruit, black cherries, and plums. Dry smoke finish.
M: Medium body, rough texture and bubbly.
O: Overall the maple syrup was not as pronounced as hoped. The smokey burnt cigarette/tobacco was a touch odd. The drink ability was weak, while intriguing the first sip or two, it didn't hold or last long, and started to become uninteresting mid-drink. A very nice coloring is it's strong point. I love smoked beers, and a good brown, this just didn't make for a good marriage here. Brown ales are truly under represented in the craft field and would like to see more. On paper this was delicious sounding, see the description prior, it just wasn't executed as planned. Props for the innovation, just a failing grade in the execution. In the end it came off as an ashtray and stale diner coffee.

Appearance: pours a dark brown color with a wispy head that breaks down immediately.
Smell: roasted coffee and a hint of smokiness is pleasant on the nose.
Taste: roasted malt, coffee, prunes, a hint of maple syrup, and an earthy bitterness. Soft hint of smoke arrives late.
Mouthfeel: medium bodied beer. Light crispness at the start, smooth at the finish.
Overall: a tasty beer that is slow sipping but satisfying.

This is definitely a tasty beer and a nice balance of all the flavors. Coffee, roasted malts, light chocolate, hints of vanilla, and a savory maple syrup aftertaste that lingers nicely. Very well executed. yb

This was a 16 oz. can described as a “Brown Ale with coffee and maple syrup”. If someone feels it should be listed as a Smoked Beer, feel free to report an update.
It was canned 9/22/17. When I cracked it open there was an aroma of coffee.
It poured a thinner viscosity, glossy mahogany brown to black with a thick, milkshake like froth on top. As it recedes some of it clings to the glass.
There is also a decent amount of chocolate fudge and a cream like sweetness, significantly charred grains and a light stale note that I would probably describe as metallic. Between the head and the sweet note I am thinking this is a Milk Stout, or an American Stout. It doesn’t strike me as a higher abv/imperial beer.
It tastes predominantly like coffee. I would say an expresso as it is sweeter and smooth. I get a sugary flavor, with homemade chocolate fudge and molasses, some lingering ashy char and barley. As it gets toward the end it has a more smoky/ashy candied bacon like aftertaste. Very nice.
The body is thinner, yet it has a touch of creaminess and soft feel.
Other than the strong chocolate presence I didn’t get the brown ale thing. Probably because it is squashed by the adjuncts. That sounded harsh. Maybe it could shine through a little more, but this still tasted like beer.
The smoked part I only really got only when it warmed near room temperature, but I did find it to be fairly ashy the whole time. The maple is pretty subtle, as it comes across more as sweet. I would have bet money on the Milk Stout, or at least use of lactose sugars, guess. A very good beer.

Poured from a can to several tasters at a share. None of us like this beer. It's a coffee maple smoked brown that tastes only like cold watered down gas station coffee - no maple, no smoke, no brown.
I apologized to my friends for having them try this.
