Appearance: pours a dark amber color with a 1" head that lingers around a long time.

Smell: caramel and fresh bread aromas are easy to detect.

Taste: nice malt base with some caramel, brown sugar, bread, and a mild earthy bitterness.

Mouthfeel: medium bodied beer. Lightly crisp throughout. Short lasting aftertaste.

Overall: a decent amber ale that is malt centric with a mild bitterness.

Poured from a tall boy into a glass. Reddish-copper hue beneath a fluffy head. Aroma of roasted malt with an earthy/nutty component. Taste is malt, toasted grains up front which turns transitionsmto a citrusy hop-grapefruit and finishes with toast, light caramel and a little peppery spiciness. Great mouthfeel - creamy and slightly bitter. Easy drinker.

DATE: March 26, 2016... OCCASION: Easter Saturday...Lent ends with a beautiful day... APPEARANCE: a strong amber body with sparse effervescence...the head retention is average, with a palpable ring and a lone island of off-white bubbles...no lacing, but that could be due to the clean glass.... AROMA: strong biscuit, caramel and toasted bread malts arrest the senses...some nice spiciness, like chocolate and cinnamon...the hops are earthy, with grapefruit and pineapple offering a bit of aromatic fruitiness...PALATE: mediun-bodied, moderately effervescent...at this ABV, a good mid-afternoon sipper...TASTE: much as the aroma suggests, a malty lager that is powered by toasted bread, biscuit and caramel....the flowery hops add balance and some small dimension... OVERALL: Props to a Jersey beer with an attractive label and a cool name...this makes a solid, reasonably flavorful lager...

Resembles a Rouge Brown hazelnut nectar. If you have not had that, it is amber brown in color. The smell is there but very faint of a nutty roast. The taste is toasty and nutty in finish. Smooth with a "hint" of hop. Overall a toasty beer and very very tasty!

8/29...draft pours deep cherry red brow. Colorful. No foam. Light caramel nose. Light sweet taste, but a thin mouthfeel. Easy drinker. Fairly ordinary VL, but nice.

A: The beer is relatively clear copper in color and has a light amount of carbonation. It poured with a thin off white head that died down, leaving wispy lacing on the surface and a collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of toasted malts and earthy hops are present in the nose.
T: Like the smell, the taste is quite malty and has flavors of both earthy hops and toasted malts with some hints of chalk. A light amount of bitterness is present.
M: It feels medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer has a good balance between the flavors of the malts and the hops and doesn't seem that heavy on the palate. It reminds me of a hybrid between an Amber Ale and an ESB.

12 oz bottle. Pours amber with thin, short-lived white head. Aroma is of grassy hops, barnyard and bread crust. Body is medium and crisp. Taste is of grain, herbal hops, bready malt and hint of honey. Finish is long and astringent. This brew is way overpriced.
