Picked this up on my U.S. 50 run over the summer as I wanted something with a label that I could keep. I haven't had a big bottle or a Brett Beer in ages but this was a worthy example of the style as it was plenty phenolic, acidic, and easy to drink since the funk was kept to a minimum!
Not a bad pour to this as the hue was golden, nicely bright, and just a bit waxy. A few streams of fine bubbles went up through it as there was plenty of head to top it off, although it quickly settled down to a thin cap. Lemon, berry tartness, yeast, and light spice filled the nose as the taste easily and gently followed suit. Some wild field, earthy funk, and banana came through as this warmed up with a slight tang and some stickiness both present in the mouthfeel as I finished this off. Fun, easygoing, and smooth around the proverbial edges, this was fun to have as the carbonation kept this from feeling too heavy on the palate.
It was nearly impossible to detect the alcohol here too as I could have easily cracked another bottle open after finishing this off. That wasn't happening, since I drove over 9,000 miles around the country before returning home and having this, but this was a beer that easily called for another afterwards. No date on here but besides swirling out a bit of sediment that collected at the bottom, this was as fresh could be, given the circumstances! Fifty West has put themselves on the map (and not just a road atlas) with brews like this as the label reflected their fun and freewheeling attitude. This was easily worthy of it's rating among beers of this style!

Brett is My CoPilot will make you pucker. The brett has transformed this beer into a super sour lemon-lime soda with the added addition of alcohol. This is a good sour beer in my opinion.

Nice slightly tart sour/wild ale. Strong lemon peel flavor, but very little carbonation. Results in underwhelming look and feel. Flavor and aroma above average.
