This place is quite the attraction. Sports of all types( yes, including ice skating), big open seating areas, inside and out. Burger stand on site. Very family oriented.

Visited for the Remus' Revenge release. Nice place, friendly employees, the beer was good (though I purchased no $12/12 oz bottles), but the food was divine. We brunched hard and could not finish our servings.

I have been there several times and never left disappointed. The old house with it's original wood and brick makes for a nice cozy atmosphere that I like. Beer as well as food is very good. Service is friendly and attentive.
They have special events such as the brewers brunch my wife gave me as a present. It was very good. Just the amount of people they crammed in this small place diminished the experience a little bit.

nice combo brewpub/restaurant. Best beer I ever had here was called '50 Dalmatians' made with Paw Paw of all things. Doesnt seem to be on their list unfortunately, or I would give it all 5s. Nice creamy mouth feel; bought a growler and wish I bought more!

Located a few miles east of Cincinnati on, you guessed it, 50 west. Parking available on site. Situated in what appears to be an old house. Nice wood beams and brick walls inside.
Nice varieties of well done beers on tap, I had several very good IPAs, my wife enjoyed her porter. No guest taps. We sat at the bar rail, and our server, while not overly engaging, was friendly.
Food menu looked very interesting. We had eaten earlier so just had some hummus with pickled mushrooms, it was very good.
Will return.

I typically get their DOOMPEDAL because it's the closest to a wheat beer that they have and it's a mild taste. I LOVE their food. They have a few games that you can play while sipping and munching. It can be rather noisy, but if you are able to listen to a record that you like, that will help with the enjoyment. When the weather is cooperating (i prefer cool not very breezy weather), then the patio is a MOST excellent choice. They are dog friendly, but only on the patio.

Just moved to Cincinnati a week ago and have already been to 50 West a couple of times. Excellent beers top top bottom, excellent food, and wonderful food. I ordered two 6 beer samplers and the server, Nate, was happy to help me put them together and gave me an extra sample of one we wanted to try. The one issue I had was with the Quad. It really needs some age to smooth it out. Otherwise, all beers were good to very good. Our favorites were the Doom Petal and Going Plaid. The muscles, pretzels andcheese, and beet salad were also very good. 50 West will definitely be our local pub.

Amazing Italian pork sandwich, great service by the bartender on a relatively busy night. Cool vibe on this spot, very chill place to hangout. Beers were decent, nothing mind blowing but everything was relatively solid.

Old house converted into brewpub on the southeast side of town near the river. A number of different rooms, but we did not explore. Beer was solid, food was excellent.

I wouldn't mind staying here and having another beer , but the hip-hop / rap music and hearing the word 'fuck' every 5 seconds was a bit much for even me. So, therefore I would suggest a different venue if that were to offend you, otherwise the beer is decent and the food is as well.

I visited Fifty West recently with some friends. It was the first stop of four brewpubs that day. We rolled in around one o'clock in the afternoon. We had the unfortunate timing of pulling in right in front of a Cincinnati beer tour bus. The place looks like a home converted into a brewpub. We entered and bellied up to the bar.
The drunken idiots from the bus tour piled into the next room right behind us. They were loud, obnoxious, and very annoying. I tried to focus on my tasting experience. I ordered the sampler that gives a good variety and range of the beers they make. The Little Miami Weisee, a pineapple berliner weisse, and the Coffee Please, a coffee stout, were the standouts of the lineup.
I ordered the bratwurst bites which are bratwurst balls served on a bed of braised red cabbage and topped with stone ground mustard. They are very good and have left me with a need to try and replicate it in my kitchen.
The bartenders were very friendly and knowledgeable. The taproom was enjoyable once the drunken beer bus patrons left, and I could carry on a conversation without shouting. I think I will definitely be checking this place out again.

I love this place. Cool old school vibe, with seating in the taproom, by an old fireplace or outside in the courtyard. Service has always been excellent, food has always been excellent (if not a little pricey for what you get), and beer is among my favorite in the Cincinnati area. They do dark beers better than anyone in Cincy, and their IPAs hit the right notes from time to time. Their lighter styles miss the mark for me as they can be thin and one-dimensional, but overall my favorite beer place in Cincinnati.

One of the older breweries in Cincinnati. It's more of a restaurant, than a proper taproom. If you're looking for that, go across the street to their other location. I always seem to like this place more when I sit at the bar. The selection is usually pretty good, but I've never had a beer from here that I love. Lots of really decent stuff, just nothing great.

A fine brewery with a solid rotating selection of in house ale ranging from American pale ales to Russian imperial stout, Belgian style quads, and superb barley wine. Also in the rotation are nice barrel aged offerings as well as limited release bottles. Good service, friendly and attentive. Knowledgeable staff on the suds, and pretty unique food with local ingredients. Only down side is the selections are rather limited but all pretty good from the various meals me and the little lady have enjoyed there. Interior of the one time Heritage House, where Marge Schott would often eat dinners, is rustic with lots of wood and decently comfortable seating. Bartenders keep a decent mood flowing besides the suds with a turntable spinning some great classic vinyl.
Decently priced growlers to go, good unique food, and good staff.
Not much more one can ask for from a brewery/eatery.
FAST FORWARD 2022
Main restaurant is closed, new stripped down burger bar is open. No growler fills, no crowlers
of anything high proof---they rather you drink it there than to get it to go, and honestly some
terrible service from knowledge-less bartenders. Just about given up on this brewery...from
a great up and coming brewery with Growlers Not Flowers to a lack luster fast food diner
experience with some suds.
Skip this place and try some other great locals----MAYBE they will get the hint!

Stopped by on Tuesday 2/24/15. The place was absolutely packed (we'd find out why quickly). There was no room at the bar so we were seated in the restaurant side of the brewery. It's located in the Bavarian style village of Mariemont, a suburb of Cincinnati. The brewery continues the Bavarian look and feel just like the town. It's pretty cool.
After being seated we found out why the place was packed, it was penny flip pint night. Basically, pick the pint of beer you'd like and your server flips a penny and if you guess heads or tails correctly then your pint costs a penny. What an aweome promotion. After four pints I decided I couldn't keep this pace up and decided on a flight to finish trying all the interesting beers on the tap list.
With that, all the beers I tried were very good to flat out fantastic. Their DIPA, Punch You In The EyePA, was hands down the star of the night. So juicy and citrusy. They also had a couple barrel aged beers on tap that were very good. Service was fine. Our server stopped by enough to let you know he was watching but not too many times to be bothersome.
Overall, a fantastic brewery and restaurant that is pumping out great beer along with very tasty food. Looking forward to my next Cincy trip later this summer. I'll definitely hit up Fifty West for some more great beer.
