A very easy drinking amber with some complexity in the malt character that can be described as subtley toasty with a nice hint of caramel. The hop character balances out the malt nicely with a citrus over tone. One thing about this ale, is the finish is nice and dry. A person can easily drink multiple pints without feeling heavy. Probably the most well rounded Amber Ale in the Atlanta area.

Fans of other local amber ales will be blown away at the flavor in this beer.

Pours a nice amber color though kind of cloudy (brewer said in something I read that the next batch turned out much clearer) Smell is clean slight roasted malt but not very present. Very common to this style of beer. Malty, roasted very easily drinkable. Put back my 32oz growler of this with no problem and would easily do it again. Nice beer for one of the first efforts from this new brewery in Fairburn, GA. Will be getting and reviewing their wheat whenever I get the chance.

At Tipsy McSway's in downtown Brunswick. It was so hoppy I'm not convinced it was an amber ale....

16 ounce pint - $5.75 at Taco Mac in Kennesaw, Georgia.

Who the hell is Strawn Brewing Company?

Appearance: Pours a lightly hazed, dark amber-hued body with a slim, tight head, the color of old parchment paper.

Smell: Mostly notes of toast, of sweet-hinted caramel, with slim support from notes of fruit and hops.

Taste: Bready, moderately toasty malts with a nice, sweet caramel accent. Soft fruitiness with just a little apricot showing. Very mild floral, herbal hops, lightly bitter. Chiefly tastes of toasted bread crusts and caramel until the sweetish finish with some of the subtle fruitiness holding into the aftertaste.

Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.

Overall: An easy-drinking, solidly constructed, malt-forward amber ale. No, really, who the hell is Strawn Brewing Company??

Strong, malty aroma has a dusty, hay-ish overtone. Pours a clear chestnut brown with a fairly thick light golden-tan head. Scrumptious flavor has a malty core with a dusty hay overtone and hints of pomme fruit and caramel. Texture has good firmness and a dusty tingle that persists, leaving a woody and straw-dusty finish. Interesting! I wish this new brewery well, very well.
