V-Highland Tap is located in LoHi near downtown Denver. It has a decent sized patio out front and two big rooms with TVs, a smattering of tables, and a medium sized bar towards the back of the "main" room. The place is almost always crowded with mostly younger people hanging out watching the game or preparing for more bar crawling. It is definitely not a beer-geek establishment, but that's alright.

Q-The beers on offer are mostly local craft of above-average quality. I have been in to Highland Tap a few times and the beer is good -- I always find something to drink -- but there is nothing that I would call rare or unique.

Ser-Despite the crowds, service has always been prompt and friendly. The beers sometimes come in a shaker pint, which is annoying, but not the end of the world. The servers know enough about beer to steer patrons in the right direction too.

Sel-Highland Tap has about 20 taps and a few can/bottle selections. I appreciate the emphasis on the smaller, local craft options, but they do have a few larger names and some BMC if you just need to slam a PBR or Banquet Beer.

F-As you might guess from the name, burgers are the house specialty. They are decent, but nothing to drive across town for. It is above-average bar food.

O-If you want an upbeat, loud spot with decent beer and sports-bar-like atmosphere in LoHi, this is your joint.

Solid tap list and cool vibe. Tap list went from cheaper lighter options up through limited release barrel aged beers. Burgers were good. We visited on a Saturday afternoon and service was a little off.

A nice burger joint with solid beer taps in the Highlands, just west (and up the hill) from downtown Denver. Around Prost, Ale House at Amato's, Denver Beer Co. If you like burgers, sports and beer....this is for you.

About 16 beers on tap, plus a handful of bottles, and the PBR can deal. Two seating areas inside, one nice patio outside. Pretty good bloody mary specials on Sundays. TVs above the bar and throughout, which , for me as a football fan, is nice addition. Not extraordinary taps, but solid and varied. It will do just fine.

Burgers are the bomb, with one semi-major problem: They are served in stupid, small cage/baskets lined with paper. Well, burgers are juicy...they seep through the paper quick. And the small size of the baskets make it difficult to even grab the damn cow. They need to rethink this--it just doesn't make sense.

The other food they have I have not. Service is good at the bar, a bit dicey elsewhere, but nothing bad. Sometimes they're just very busy.

Nice stop. Grab a burger and beer, you won't have a bad time
