Poured from the can into a Spiegelau IPA glass. Canned April 3rd 2018.

Clear bodied with a very deep reddish bronze to amber body color. Soapy to creamy like head, managing a good three fingers, with some swiss cheese retention and soapy lacing. Off white, on a very dark nice body, neat and nice looking IPA.

Aroma is a nice mix of candy sweet malt, almost like maple syrup crystals and a soft hop aromatic of soft green minty herbs and earth. Flirts with a bit of dank, but manages a sweeter softer character amongst the earthy quality.

Palate sticks with more of a malt and soft hop presence. Deep soft malt backbone, simple and the kind you want in an IPA, but the hop angle is a bit buried and indistinct. Possibly faded? Not so much, but more of a light juiced tangerine, and faint hints of tropics perhaps. Finishes with a good almost crispy toffee finish and lingering peppery hop astringency.

Very tolerable for an imperial, but lacks much flavor and distinction.

To sum it up, it is a smooth hoppy IPA. Very flavorful.

Light tan hued head, lots of dimples across the surface, close to two fingers deep, good stick to the lacing and decent breadth as well. Mild haze to the liquid, dark amber color, almost rusty, haphazard array of minute bubbles. The nose built on a foundation of dank herbs akin to forest floor matter, fallen pine cones and needles, all this mainly balanced out by caramel, brioche, pink grapefruit citrus and rich mango, pineapple, papaya scents, average staying power, credible enough. Full-bodied and firm, the carbonation provides more steady churn than prickle. Considerably sweeter here, the leafy herbaceousness most present during the mouth entry and then it’s all juicy grapefruit, tangerine citrus and more of that mango, papaya, nectarine, and guava fruit. Has a sticky texture to it more than smooth fluidity. The malts smooth out the finish, buttered biscuit, caramel, cola bean. The floral side most expressive at the end too. No real burn noticeable, if you were served it blindly you would be hard pressed to peg it as a double IPA. Absolutely no problem with it but at the same time does not separate itself from an extremely large and crowded pack.

Obviously it’s all personal opinion, but sip for sip, I would take this over any other IPA I’ve ever had. I must have a different set of taste buds, since it’s not already really high on here. Be careful though, the ABV will getcha.

Canned on 7/12/17.

Pours a very dark tan color with a tall, gotten head and thick lacing.

The smell is dank pine and some citrus.

The taste follows with mostly pine. This suffers from being a bit old and I'm guessing the citrus would be stronger when it's fresher.

It has a medium mouthfeel with a slightly oily feel.

Overall a decent beer but I'd like to try it fresh.

Poured from a tallboy can into a Dogfish Head tulip

L: Cloudy golden copper pour with 2 fingers of foamy white head. Great lacing.

S: Tropicals fruits and malts. Sweet pine.

T/F: RIch caramel malts... more body than I was expecting. Mixes well with notes of evergreen/pine. Citrus is present but somewhat secondary. Herbs and tea leaves. Well carbonated... a tad boozy. Very sticky/resinous.

O: A rich malt forward DIPA. Solid flavor profile.. still pulls off some good bitterness. A little sweet and boozy, but still easily drinkable. Goes down too fast for an 8.5%'er.

I'm trying this at the house my Bestie rented on Hilton head. It poured a slightly hazy orangish with head. The scent had hints of sweet malt with some bitter citrus zeal. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink. The mouthfeel was fuller in body with good carbonation. Overall it's a decent beer.

Pours a light copper/ dark orange with medium carbonation. Hoppy fruit on the nose. Taste is lots of juicy fruit with dank undertones. Malt is complex but stays politely in the background. Not sweet or anything for the abv and color, balanced alright. No distinct hop sticks out to me, but they must have poured a boat load in this beer to get it so hoppy. Enjoyable, different DIPA.

Pours a golden to copper color with a light white head. Nose is earthy and floral with cereal malts. Taste follows nose with a few added tastes. Earthy, grassy, pine, floral, perfume all on a solid malty base. Possibly some light citrus in there but I'm grasping for it. Medium body with a dry grainy finish. It was a okay beer.
