Winter 2013 vintage. Poured from a bomber into a shaker pint, the beer is almost jet black, with auburn-brown highlights around the edges, and a thin, tight, halo of light tan head. Aromas of deep, rich roast and bitter coffee, booze, chocolate, subtle sweet notes of vanilla and honey, and some earthy notes. This smells perfectly balanced and rich. Wow! Flavors are very robust, with a blast of cocoa nibs, brownies, dark roasted coffee, subtle sweet notes of honey and cream, and some caramel notes. This is heavy on the palate, but light and smooth in mouth. The beer still holds some of the dry characteristics of your typical porter, too. This is great. The aftertaste is mostly chocolate, with some earthy tones in there, too. Roasted and bitter linger on a slightly dry, mostly smooth finish. This is a great beer!

Pint into snifter
L- Dark pour developed finger or so of lighter colored head that dissipated fairly quickly. Shows good lacing
S- Boozy up front, with a bit of roast
T- No honey or coffee for me but I'm fine with that as I'm not big on coffee. Mine's still a bit cold, 40ish, so I'm definitely missing out on some of the flavors.
F- Good, coats well, smooth with a light/moderate thickness to it
O- I like it, not a favorite but not bad either

A: The beer is essentially jet black in color—only traces of dark red are visible near the edges o the glass. It poured with a short off white head that left a thin layer of bubbles covering the surface and a narrow collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of honey are present in the nose along with hints of coffee.
T: The taste has moderately strong flavors of honey along with hints of coffee.
M: It feels nearly medium-bodied on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer has a little too much honey for my liking but manages to hide any traces of alcohol from the taste.

Bttld 11/18/15 drank 11/16/16. Great beer. Dunno how the aging has affected it becaus first time trying. Not getting the honey do maybe that's part of it but still smooth with a touch of sweetness.

Pours opaque out of a bomber with a light tracing of tannish head at the perimeter of the glass. The smell is strong of coffee and caramel - you'd think that you had opened an Iced Latte. The taste is sweet and thickish, short of syrup but more than coffee and has a slightly boozy finish - complete with tones of roasted almonds and dark chocolate. Very similar to STBC Creme Brulee.

22oz bottle poured into a snifter. Pours a dark black color with tan colored head. The sweet honey and coffee come out predominately in the nose, smells great. The taste like the aroma is smooth and roasty with some sweetness coming in from the honey and finishing in with some roasted coffee flavors.
