Pours a dark gold, slightly orange, w/ lace done the glass. An aroma that is slightly spicy and yeasty but not much else - not picking up much citric notes. Taste is more of the same as this is a light beer that has some lemon notes, some clove spicy notes and has a little bit of sweetness. Finishes crips, little haggard, and this is a good summer/lawnmower beer but not much complexity, even by hefe standards.

Poured on-tap at Canal Street, and served in a pint glass. The beer is a bright, cloudy yellow-gold coloring, with a slight unfiltering to it, and a ring of white, frothy head. Very floral aromas, with some effervescent characteristics and feel to it. Smooth, but light, the flavors are sweet, with citrus/lemon highlights over a doughy, bready backbone. Tart towards the end, with a foamy and filmy finish. The aftertaste is lemon zest, with some bread-like flavors. Sour at the end, too. Not a favorite, that's for sure.

Got this on a hot summer night in a crowded and cantakerous Fenway bar where we needed liquid refreshment. The brew was dispensed a cloudy orange/yellow with a fair white head that was gone in a flash.
Really wonderful nose on this one. Lots of tropical fruit, banana, and yeast, with a hint of sharp, almost white pepper-like spice. Gotta love that fresh beer.
Great yeast and bread dough flavor, with some biting hints of lemon amd light bitter spice. Just everything you'd want in a hefe this time of year.
Lighter bodied and carbonated.
A very easy drinker -- I said F-U to the lemon and was glad I did. This was pint #2 and a great seasonal to try.

Pours a very cloudy orange, yellow ,lemon color with a medium white lacey head. The smell is strong lemon, wheat, clove, banana, and bread yeast. Not bad at all. The taste is like the smell with a very crisp summer type flavor. The m/f is light with all the flavors mixing well. A nice refreshing beer for a summer night in Beantown.

Sample at Beer Works Fenway: This beer is a hazy golden color with a medium thin off-white head that has fair retention. Spotty lacing. Wheaty, yeasty aroma with touches of spice. Medium body with citrus, yeast and wheat flavors. The finish is mostly yeast with touches of spice and hops. Above average overall.

6/18/2005 $4.50 16 oz. 4.50%
Appearance:
Pours a hazy yellow with very little head. Spot on for style.
Aroma:
Nice and citrusy with some good coriander and banana overtones.
Taste/Mouthfeel:
Nice and refreshing with definite citrus flavors & just a touch of banana. Dries the mouth a little too much in the finish, leaving an astringent taste.

Absolutely no head or lace which is very unusual for a wheat beer. Cloudy and blonde.
The wife added the lemon before I had a chance to taste or smell. The brew did not hold up to the lemon aromas. No flaws that I could detect.
First impression is raw grains followed by some nice wheat. Interesting complexity without any noticable hop. Excellent body and moderate carbonation.
This is a strong steady entry into hefe-weizen world, but not remarkable.

Really nice, authentic German yeast smells, with hints of banana, clove, vanilla, cinnamon roll dough and banana bread. Cloudy orange brown color. Unfortunately, upon tasting, it surely lacks the magic of the nose. Initially sharp, husky and acidic, very mild with a watery texture.
