Received a glass of reddish brown brew. Light skim of head, some light spotty lacing. Good clarity.
Not overly intense in the scent. Sweet maltiness with some stone fruit characteristics. Some browned/toastiness in the nose as well.
Decent complex brew from these guys. Nice toasted malt flavor, with hints of boozy cherry, toffee, caramel, and woody vanilla. The alcohol is an instant punch, but it is not astringent at all. It comes as a second step and is overpowered by other flavors. Finish is sweet(er) and lingers.
Tacky and mouth coasting, but not so intense that you have to be careful how you sip this. Good body, but not over the top.
Overall, a nice surprise at this place. Got this one in a sampler glass and closed out the visit with it. Easier drinking than expected. Try this i you see it. Good brew.
