Had a couple of cans with lunch at Captain Ratty's restaurant in New Bern, NC for $5.50.

Beer poured golden with a nice white head with the original pour.

Nose was light citrus forward.

Taste was a nearly imperial sized malt base with a tropical and orange flavor meld and finished with a nice pine hop bite; 6/10 on my scale.

Mouthfeel was medium bodied and both smooth and refreshing.

Overall a nice easy drinking west coast IPA, glad i tried!

Pours a hazy golden color with moderate head. Heavy citrus and pine scent, which translates to the taste where hop bitterness is forefront. Medium mouthfeel and an aftertaste that starts fruity and ends with hop bitterness

Drinking this at the White Street Brewery in Wake Forest NC on tap poured into a pint glass.
Looks very slightly hazy Golden color, nice head with substantial lacing.
Smells citrusy, slightly piney.
Hoppy citric, piney forward.
Mouth feel is medium for the style which helps to balance the hoppiness.
Overall a fine West Coast IPA style I would definitely order again if in the mood for that kind of thing.

White Street Brewing, out of Wake Forest NC, offers a very nice, practically sessionable, 7.5% IPA that has citrus (grapefruit) and mango notes on the palate--though not as prevalent in the nose. The hop bite is substantial, but mellowed somewhat by the malt character. Nicely carbonated mouthfeel, too, and it pours a golden amber. Easy-drinking, pleasant and on-style, but kind of like a cross between a West Coast and a British IPA. The label says it pairs well with "blackened chicken, pizza, shellfish or spicy dishes." I'll test that theory and get back to you.

On tap at brewery. Great flavors and atmosphere; bottled brew is good also. Highly recommended and one of the best NC brews I have tasted.

Pours hazy gold (SRM 4-5) with a nice burst of golden sparkle that produces a dirty white head. The half-inch fluffy head is long lived and leaves a copious webbing of lace on a pint glass.

Mouthwatering, fresh and juicy orange and mango yields with warmth to light pinesap. This one is simple and well done.

Thank you Meghann & Wayne.

The flavor is strongly bitter, yet controlled by modest sweetness. A combination of grapefruit and peat is odd, leading to a medium length, harshly bitter finish. The beer is clearly a West Coast IPA variant and actually improves with slight warmth.

Full body with a soft smooth texture and light carbonation. Modest astringency.

This IPA seems to straddle East and West Coasts as a hybrid. It is definitely worth seeking out again and would be paired well with soft-shell crabs and lively conversation.

Poured from a 12 OZ bottle into a pint glass. The appeara ce is a clear golden amber with a large thick off-white head. The taste has a nice sharp hop bite.

Clear copper pour. Normal head volume, quite outstanding lacing and very good retention.

Outstanding nose of mango, light grapefruit and very subtle spruce over biscuit with caramel notes.

Light medium body that is smooth with a touch of slickness. Quite outstanding carbonation / body balance with a nice effervescent middle and a finely bubbled prickly finish that approaches rollicking.

The richness of the flavor is quite outstanding, however bitterness is low for the style. Consequently, the flavor profile is outstanding but would be quite outstanding for an APA. It begins with a sweet burst of biscuit with strong caramel notes. Hops soon arrive as a mango / pineapple blend that never really separates although mango becomes more pronounced after the very mildly bittered middle. As the finish approaches, grainy biscuit churns underneath a subtle spicy spruce with grapefruit zest notes. The finish is a slow fade that ends slightly dry and with a zest note.

Poured from bottle

L: Bright, beautiful effervescent gold
S: Sweet mango
T: Even more mango with lime at the tail. Very crisp. Low bitterness. Little sweetness. Hint of pine at the very end.
F: Pretty carbonated for an IPA and it suits it well. Light-bodied and resinous, so the hops shine.
O: Very surprised by this one. A stellar example of a prototypical new school IPA that stands out for its execution.

Pair with cajun grilled chicken, white chocolate chip cookies, shrimp salad
