Served on tap by the brewer himself who report ABV of 4.?% (4.5%?)

Poured with a proper, semi-creamy tan head. The head dies down to a thin coat and large ring but creates excellent lacing.

Aroma: nicely malty and appealing but a bit faint.

Taste: Malty with a hint of smoke. Great sweet/bitter balance and interplay.

Very good, smooth feel, with medium-light body and excellent medium carbonation.

O: a very satisfying sessionable ale.

On tap at Wine 101 in Wake Forest

A - pours a dark amber with a thin brown head that has great retention

S - caramel, some fruit, apples

T - caramel, burnt sugar, peat, apples

M - smooth, medium bodied, well carbonated

This was a decent, quaffable beer. It has a nice though lighter flavor profile with good balance. You could definitely knock a few of these backs. It's worth a try.

A pretty decent take on Scottish Ale. Not too cloying some some.

Heavy upfront roasted malt flavor. High carbonation. Not the best Scottish I've had.

Wish I could rate it higher. Nice malt profile, but not balanced with the malt/hops/alcohol for a Scottish ale. IMO needed more residual malt and a bit more on the ABV.
