IPA brewed with Citra. Flooded with the unmistakeable aroma and flavor of Citra hops. Big tropical fruit accompanied by a smooth, dry finish. Hazy on purpose, delicious by intent.

thanks to Hopelessly0 for the trade on this one ... even with the can being around 7 weeks old this was incredibly enjoyable and flavorful , which speaks to the quality of this brew.

incredibly fragrant; juicy and ripe tropical fruits wafting all over the room!

taste is creamy and pulpy - almost creamsicle-like despite the absence of lactose here. this is one of the more enjoyable NEIPAs I've had so far - really satisfying pulp flavor of orange/tangerine and grapefruit with just the right amount of pith and bitterness, and perhaps a slight earthiness... overall mostly tropical citrus and pure sweetness (not syrupy or thick, just naturally juicy - which is just the way I like it!

Appearance: Opaque yellow-orange with a finger's worth of dense white head.

Aroma: Citra citra citra. Very nice.

Flavor: Citra citra and citra again. So delish! Lemon/lime pith, orange skins, grapefruit, pineapple, and guava. Very strong ripe fruit flavor throughout. Bitter on the back end.

Palate/Finish: Creamy but has some carb, easy to drink. Finishes with more ripe grapefruit and dry hops.

Overall: What a great beer. There's so much flavor and I love how it focuses on those bitter citrus fruits rather than being sweet.

Aroma: The aroma is pure fruit, mostly peach and citrus.

Taste: It starts as fruit juice and ends nice and bitter. Peach, orange, apricot.

Mouthfeel: Nice and thick, with low carbonation levels.

Overall, this is a reaaaaaly good beer. Many thanks to brentk56 for sending me this.

The taste follows the nose. Slightly sweet.

Smooth, juicy body with light powdery carbonation.

I got this in Waynesville NC, and am enjoying it today in Summerville, SC, June 27th 2020.

Poured from Crowler into pint glass 1 day after canning

Look - Pale orange. Large bubbled head with thin lacing. Classic NE style IPA look.
Smell - Tons of citrus and mango.
Taste - Nice balance of acidity and sweetness. Citrus notes, specifically tangerine, shine through with subtle vanilla and mango.
Feel - Smooth as all get out. Soft mouth feel with low bite.
Overall - What a great beer. Nice balance and on par with most great haze. Not overly complicated and that is a good thing.

Bought a crowler if this when I was in NC for a house hunting trip. Moving from CT I was anxious to try the best NC had to offer. It’s almost as good as any NE IPA from the classic stops. Well done Heist!

16 oz. Can
Canned On: 11 14 2018

My first from this brewery.

Poured into a Tree House glass a pretty nice cloudy yellow/orange color, pretty nice carbonation, with a pretty nice thick/creamy one-finger plus white head, which also leaves some pretty nice sticky lacing behind. The nose is hoppy, malty, with a pretty nice citrus complex (orange, tangerine, grapefruit, mango, guava, pineapple, peach), nice little diesel like. The taste is pretty nice, hoppy, malty, with a pretty nice citrus complex (orange, tangerine, grapefruit, mango, guava, pineapple, peach), nice little diesel like. Medium body, ABV is hidden pretty nicely, with a nice little dry/bitter finish. Overall, a pretty tasty brew. Orange Julius! Addictive! Milk Shake! Thanks Russ!

A: The beer is cloudy yellow in color and poured with a short white head that left lots of wisps of lacing on the surface and a narrow collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of grapefruit juice are present in the nose.
T: Like the smell, the taste has lots of flavors of grapefruit juice along with a touch of associated sourness.
M: It feels medium-bodied and very juicy on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer tastes just like drinking ruby red grapefruit juice. It is very crushable.

L - massive head atop a glowing orange body.

S - grapefruit, herb.

T - Mmmmm. Meaty hops. Brisket, cheese, garlic, fried onions. A little grapefruit. Low bitterness. No sweetness. Low booziness.

F - medium body and carb.

O - now only the 6th beer I’ve found that tastes like barbecue to me. I taste Citra in a strange way apparently. Yum!

I unfortunately can't get down with 100% Citra IPAs much anymore (with the exception of Double Citra from HF - drool) - the overpowering qualities of cat pee dominate here; good to try though, and a great body for what it is.

From the tap:
Look: Golden orange color with nice 1" white head; very hazy and opaque.
Smell: Hints of mango, orange, grapefruit.
Taste: Very tasty with hints of tropical orange/grapefruit, slightly dry with a little bitterness at the end.
Feel: Medium to heavy body; smooth and creamy. Lightly carbonated.
Overall: Probably my favorite newly discovered beer this year. Very drinkable and highly recommended.

Thanks to Mr. Beer_Economicus for this Charlotte beauty.
Pours a vibrant orange to golden hue. Opaque. Fluffy white head rises about 2 fingers in height. Scattered lacing.
Smell is bright citrus. Orange zest, floral lemon, and a fluffy oatmeal grain note. Very inviting.
Taste follows along. The flavor really does move in unison with the mouthfeel. The lite, fluffy delivery of such smooth citrus notes is quite satisfying. The finish is almost bitter, but definitely juicy.
Overall, a notable hazy. It is more nuanced hazy IPA, and I like that.

On tap at the brewery. Get there EARLY to get a park. My favorite draft IPA to date, smooth and power-flavors with excellent finish. Great staff at Heist let me sample others without asking. Highest recommendation! Also got some 16 oz cans for my homeboys as I live 259 miles away

Canned 07/06/18, so 10 days ago.

A: Pours a light orange, sort of orange juice like, completely opaque, with a third finger of off white head. Leaves some waves of lacing on the glass, with pretty good retention.

S: Fleshy orange, pink grapefruit, a bit of mango/guava, and very light grainy-ness. Very well constructed, though not exactly bursting with flavor.

T: Pink grapefruit and orange, fairly dry which tends to accentuate the medium-light bitterness through the finish. A bit less bitterness or a bit of sweetness to balance it would go a long way.

M: Silky smooth medium body but with what seems like a bit of gritty hop matter. Medium-light carbonation. Fairly creamy.

O: Tasty, very drinkable IPA, kind of on the lighter and (somewhat, for a NE IPA) more bitter end.

Crowler, shared with friends on 5/26 - Citraquench'l pours a light, attractive yellow-orange. It looks a bit like Tang, actually, plus carb! It smells fantastic - sweet and full of citrus.

The taste and mouth feel are light and refreshing, with lots of orange and citrus. It's also fairly yeasty, chewy, and hoppy - though not bitter.

I really like this beer. This would easily be a go-to summer beer were it in my distribution.

A pale, murky, juicy looking beer with a nice light and sticky head. The nose is full of grapefruit, papaya, a tiny bit of green onion and pine. Sweet caramel, bitter citrus pith, grapefruit and pine. Finishes dry with a big pine aftertaste. Very good beer.
