I'm reviewing The Greeks Next Door which is a bottle shop. I did not visit the bar. The girl was very helpful and answered a few questions, plus she was also very friendly. I just discovered this place which is only about 15 minutes away from me. They have a much better selection of harder to find brews when compared to most of the beer places around here. Being located on the Main Line, you just have to be willing to put up with somewhat higher prices but they have some stuff here I just haven't seen around. I picked up an Anchorage Love Buzz for my brother in law and mixed a sixer for myself.

I can't follow another review by slander, are you kidding me!

At least I've got him beat in that this has been a "local" of mine for years before it became the wonderland of beer that it is now! And perhaps that's the only thing I can point out, that it's a good hang. Some of the regular guys are just hilarious with their back and forth insults and jokes; and when they're not there there's usually someone else interesting, if not funny.

It's great for me because I can stop in for a beer when I'm killing time, and maybe pick up a beer or two - although I'll disagree with slander on that - their prices may seem reasonable compared to those high-falutin' (that's a real adjective? Really?) New York prices, but here they're a little bit higher than they need to be (I know because every once in a while I go around and compare prices). Still, it's a good place to enjoy a beer and they've got a great selection now; and if you're willing to pay for the convenience they've got beer to go.

Survived Kennett, post-fested Victory, slept the hell in, mulled around suspiciously double espressoless thanks to someone having absconded the goddamn maker, and rolled down 422 towards things greater Philly, or burbs anyway. Lunch in Ardmore and then it’ll be six of one, half a dozen the other to a highway this way or that, but wait, I know a place…

Bottle shop side/bar side; 18 taps split between here and there. Looked around a bit and decided to beer now and buy later. So through to the bar side. ‘J’ shaped laminate wood topped bar, panel base, & a foot box. Seating for 13 on wood chairs and a service spot on center with handlebars to remind you that you shouldn’t be standing there. Barback is a vintage wood paneled unit with square mirrored panels and a flat on center. Some shelves of booze below glassware and stacked tiered countered atop. Light brewery tins & Philly sports team bumperstickers. A cooler to the right holds macro bottle play and meh approachable craft, and a smaller TV atop with pitchers. Mallet hanging over the bar for cask thumping. 10 tap wood handles with baby blackboards save Yungling & Stella which are constants on a stainless steel barbell tower.

Worn wood laminate looking floors, beige painted square cork tile ceilings with matching duct work, and walls of the same. Some of the uppers over wood panel trim along the wall of booths. A row of 3 spinnys, track lighting on both sides and a row of drop spots. Large sea town painted murals over the seating, a mish mosh of brewerania (tins, prints, neons, vintage adage, & paintings), and a collection of photos forward the bar. Flats in the front & rear opposite corners. 7 booths on the far wall, 3 rectangles in a row, some table juts to the rear, and a 6 shorty stool row in the front window counter crescent below panel windows that I think may open.

18 taps in all, 11 of which are not available for growler fill; a mix of PA play (Victory Hop Quad & Vital IPA, Bullfrog Jong Bruin Kriek, Yuengling), regional craft (Dogfish Head 120 Minute IPA, Ommegang Game of Thrones Take the Black Stout, Hill Farmstead Mary, Allagash Odyssey, Sam Adams Kosmic Mother Funk Grand Cru), craft afar (Goose Island Bourbon County Brand Stout, Half Acre Daisy Cutter, Avery Raspberry Sour & Liliko’I Kepolo, Jolly Pumpkin La Parcela, Bruery Cuivre & Or Xata, Stone Enjoy By), and import (Stella). I drank the Bullfrog Jong Bruin Kriek, Avery Raspberry Sour, & Hill Farmstead Mary.

But I must bail on (Evil) Davo now and go back to the beer store side. Sure, I can shop and imbibe, it’s allllllllllllll good. 10 coolers of the chilly stuff +3 shortys to the rear, and 8 room temperature shelving racks on the opposite wall. They’ve got a cool chest opening Monk bottle display case up front. They have 7 Cascade bottles here. Well, fuck. I pinched a pair of Half Acre Daisy Cutter cans and a bottle of Russian River Consecration. Prices are reasonable. 8 taps listed here and poured counterside.

I wish I could have wings and a mountain of goddamn tater tots like I saw go by. They should be mine, they should be mine. Good tunes, got some Kinks & Beirut this afternoon. The place has been here since 1922; well, the bar side anyway. They just did a 3rd Anniversary on the beer store side yesterday. Super nice friendly folks. A neighborhood joint, if there ever was one. And the beer store side is solid, too.

A good craft beer bar with two sections: one is a pretty basic divey bar, and one room across is a beer garden with a nice bottle selection and the option to taste some beers and/or get growlers. Vibe was pretty weak here, sort of a mix of Bud-drinking redneck bar and total college kid dive...careful when you walk in, or you might get your eye taken out, considering the dart board is directly adjacent to the doorway. (Villanova is vaguely in the vicinity.) It's rowdy and there isn't much breathing space between the bar and the general walkway. The beer garden is a little more laid back, and they have a really good lay-out of hundreds and hundreds of bottles, local and otherwise. Service is fine, didn't try the food.

This isn't a place I would general hang at, but it's worth hitting up for events, or just to browse the bottle selection.

Had a few pints in the pub and browsed the selection- great variety including some hard to find stuff. Prices were a bit high but that's to be expected on the Main Line. Bartender and staff were friendly and helpful. Would swing back in if I'm in the area to browse for some possible gems

I just discovered this place and I'm very happy I did. I went there on a Friday just to see what this place was about.
Upon arriving I immediately noticed that they stocked a wide variety of bottles, many that I haven't seen at any other bottle shop in the area. I ended up spending over $100 but it was well worth it.
I will definitely be back for more!

Went to this shop last night and they had a very good selection of beers that you can't get in many bottle shops in Pennsylvania. If you join their mailing list they will alert you of rare beers that they get in stock.

Old fashioned neighborhood bar with bottle shop added a couple of years ago. Great place to visit for either the bar and food or the bottles. Everybody seems to enjoy the place and each other's company.

The bottle shop has multiple coolers and some shelving racks. A nice, and unexpectedly wide, selection for a neighborhood bar and bottle shop, and most bottles are within code.

The Greeks is a neighborhood restaurant and bar in Narberth PA. Until recently it was a unremarkable Bud/Coors light kind of place. In the last couple of months they added a bottle shop called (you guessed it) the Greeks Next Door, selling a very wide range of craft and imported brews.

Last week they put in a great range of quality taps and are filling growlers. Prices are quite reasonable compared to other bottle shops on the Philadelphia Main Line and the staff is knowledgable, very friendly and helpful.

Until now finding quality craft beer in this part of the Philly suburbs was not easy. One had to go to Manayunk, Wayne or downtown. The Greeks have changed all that.

Well worth a visit.
