Style: Schwarzbier

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 8.50%

Availability: Rotating

Notes / Commercial Description:
We took the recipe for our Black Lager and doubled the ingredients, put it in stainless for two weeks and laid it down in bourbon Barrels. Six months later the magic happened and the goat was birthed. Black Goat is a Double Black Lager; sure to please the harshest of critics. Caution: this billy kicks!

Appearance is pretty much pitch black.
Aromas are vanilla bean, dark chocolate, dark fruit and oaky bourbon.
Tastes are pretty similar with similar with the dark fruit and bourbon really coming through.
The palate is medium plus with a nice lingering soapy finish. Some bourbon heat lingers as well.
Overall this is a really nice bourbon aged lager.

22 ounce bottle into a tulip glass.

Pours near black and opaque, small head with some lacing. Smell is malt, bourbon, some chocolate and cocoa, some vanilla, coffee, a little bread. Taste leads with the malt, bourbon, chocolate, some oak, light caramel and molasses, vanilla, light coffee. Has a good feel to it, smooth, solid body, well carbonated.

Good effort on this, well blended between the bourbon barrel and malt. Good price point, certainly worth a purchase.

A - Pours black with a two finger tan head. The head dissapates quickly leaving a nice amount of soapy lacing.

S - Aroma is roasted malts, coffee and dark chocolate.

T - Upfront the flavor is chocolate, vanilla, and bourbon. The backend has some light coffee and roasted malts that add a nice balance.

M - Medium balanced with medium carbonation. Soft creamy mouthfeel with a dry sticky finish.

O - This was a nice suprise. The flavors are very well balanced. Very drinkable at 8.5%.
