BEER INFO

Brewed by:
Perrin Brewery
Michigan, United States

Style: American IPA

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 6.50%

Availability: Rotating

Notes / Commercial Description:
Perrin IPA accomplishes the nearly impossible feat of balancing a sweet malty backbone along with a blend of west coast hops, along with Michigan Cascade hops. Which creates a crisp bitterness and imparts massive floral and citrus aromas. This is how an IPA should taste!

A vigorous pour gives this a frothy cap of foam and a nice appearance.
There's a pleasant aroma with notes of grapefruit and some floral characteristics. Smells inviting. Tastes similar, with a grapefruit piney punch and a light malt backing. Slight medicinal note becomes more and more present as it opens however, keeping this one from truly coming together.

12 oz can. Pours hazy copper gold with a big pillowy white head that retains well and leaves a little lacing.

The aroma is fruity piney resiny peppery hops with some bready malt.

The flavor is sweet sugary fruits with some dank resiny hops in the finish. Decent bitterness with a bit of an tarry aftertaste. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with smooth carbonation.

Overall, a decent IPA. The hop flavor s don't quite do it for me though.

12 oz can...04-07-17 stamped on the bottom

Pours lightly hazed typical looking Amber, moderate light khaki cap and leaving fine whispy lacing.

Sniff reveals some soft citric hoppy notes

On the palate its grainy and lightly citric hop notes....better then decent but nothing overly interesting or challenging to the senses. Worth a try.

Pours a light copper color and clear but a touch of chill haze and a fluffy crown of white foam.

Sweet caramel and toffee malt notes with a bit of citrus and grassy notes.

Grassy/floral hops shine while citrus notes add some depth while the strong malt backbone provides nice balance.

Light-medium bodied, medium carbonation, crisp, balanced.

Overall, while certainly not a beer to write home about it's a crushable one for sure!

Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a tan/orange color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of citrus, resin, light malts. Taste is grapefruit, pine, some malts, hints of resin, mild bitterness. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a pretty good beer.
