I found this place short after I moved to Scotland. The location is perfect, just meters from the shore and the lifeboat station. It retains the old, crowded atmosphere of the ancient cottages, with low ceilings, lot of wood and memorabilia from sea-life. Even the tables used to belong to boats.

The atmosphere is incredible, with a mixture of old folk and youngsters all craving for a chat while sipping ale or whisky (remember, we are in Scotland). I got to say I have never paid much attention to the music except on Thursdays, when some local chaps (and chapettes) join in the backroom for an improvised jam full of Scottish tunes and songs.

I myself am an ale man, and there are always 4 or 5 to choose from; some come from well established big breweries but two or three will always be a surprise, for its variety and rotation.

It is indeed a lovely place to go, and I try to take all my visitors there at least once :)
