I am now CANtinuing yet another brewery horizontal, this time with CANs from Vault B.C. in Yardley, PA. I met these guys fairly early in their existence & reviewed one of their first CANs for The CANQuest (tm). It's good to be coming back to them!

From the CAN: "Drink Fresh, Drink Now".

I beCAN by Crack!ing open the vent & CANmencing a slow, gentle Glug into the awaiting glass. An in-glass swirl raised two-plus fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, eggshell-white head with decent retention, slowly falling away while leaving decent lacing in its wake. Color was a solid Amber (SRM = > 7, < 9) with NE-quality clarity. Nose smelled strongly of blueberry pancakes! Mmm. Mouthfeel was medium, a little light for this style. I generally prefer my DIPAs to be more on the bitter side, but I CAN also be somewhat forgiving when it is Mosaic hops that are being utilized. Here, they were clearly on display, bringing their freshly-picked blueberry flavor to bear while allowing the ABV to be dangerously hidden in the mix. Man, a DIPA should NOT be this easy-drinking! It was going down far too easily. Finish was semi-sweet, very much of blueberries, bit not quite aligning with the style.

Canned 3/26/18

Orange juice and yellow colored, creamy and thick white head. Hazy and almost opaque.

Orange and pineapple smell. Biscuit and cracker.

Taste has the same, orange and pineapple juice. Somewhat sweet.

Soft feel, lower to medium carbonation. Hits the style really well. Low bitterness.

Even at 2 months old, this is really juicy and soft. Almost no bitterness. And at 8%, the flavors completely mask any heat or booze. Really well done NEIPA.

Vault Brewing Co. "Mosaic Imperial IPA"
$4.50/half pint at the brewery on 14 April 2018

Notes: "v 4.1" listed at 8.0% abv. Hazy golden-orange body beneath a full head of fluffy white foam. Very good head retention and even better lacing. It smells of Mosaic hops with bright berry and mango. The flavor brings in a rich, bready malt that's just a touch sweet but the hops are able to hold their own with more citrus and tropical fruit added in and it's nicely balanced. A firm bitterness then anchors it and brings it to a dry finish. It's not a hop bomb but it more than gets the job done. At 8.0% the alcohol never shows. Medium leaning a touch towards medium-full in body and gently crisp. Nicely done.

Pounder can into a snifter appears hazy copper with a creamy off-white cap.

Aroma is very melon-like with pith, pulp and fruit with a touch of buttery grain.

Taste also carries a sort of buttery grain note blending to melon-like hops im not particularly fond of and somewhat grassy/vegetative/yeasty into the finish.

Medium in body with modest carbonation. Its ok, nice to try something new from a brewery I never heard of but I dont need to buy/drink this again.

Appearance: hazy orange in color with a 1" head that slowly falls to a thick surface foam.

Smell: citrus and earthy tones are picked up by the nose.

Taste: caramel, grapefruit, pineapple, pine, lemon zest, and an earthy bitterness.

Mouthfeel: medium bodied beer. Crisp to start, less crisp and dry at the finish. Long lasting aftertaste.

Overall: a real tasty beer that goes down easy despite higher alcohol level.

Hazy golden orange look to this brew with a larger white head. This has a pineapple and citrus mix on the nose, very inviting and somewhat gentle. Good easy fruity flavor with moderate bitterness and a gentle dank angle. Nicely carbonated and Thinner in feel round out this IPA. Thanks to my bro-in-law Todd for turning me on to these awesome brews. He always has an awesome selection to sample !

Pours translucent orange with plenty of lacing. Heavily malt balanced with citrus and citrus rind. Feel is crisp, but not too dry. Overall, not bad but really not the greatest exsmole of the style. A bit darker in taste and heavy on the malt than ideal. Not a bad beer, just not quite as advertised.

16 oz can poured into a custom Vault glass. 4-pack canned on 4/17/17. Single hop Mosaic imperial IPA. Released yearly in cans and on draft and has been a staple by Vault. Usually with double IPAs, more malt means more hops, so this should be a Mosaic hop explosion

L - amber color, hazy and cloudy, little to no lacing but nice foam dome

S - grassy, grapefruit peel. Nothing piney but definitely grassy so it was whole flower hopped.

T - grapefruit, earthy pine, bubble gum, cotton candy, Juicy and grapefruit but the candy notes are out of this world

F - alcohol is medium light, really smooth, slight pine resin but really pleasant

O - one of their "flagship" beers that is always solid. Super smooth with crazy flavors. Cheers!

Pours a cloudy dark amber color, aroma is of pine, hops, resin, with an orange. Taste is different for a DIPA, I am getting a balance of malt, hops, and citrus, a nice sweetness at the end. Very good.
An update..................this beer is growing on me, very drinkable.............

This is the real deal. Creamy and full, and oh so crushable. The Mosaic flavor is wonderful, and even with 80+ IBUs this is easily palatable. Better than Other Half, on par with the likes of Pliny and Heady. Seek it out.

16oz can into a Belgian tulip, but I have also had this on draft at the source in Yardley, PA. Pours a nice amber with a 1" bubbly head. Smells of hops, but I also get big notes of citrus and maybe lemon. Taste is pretty awesome, you guys. Hoppy but not very bitter; citrusy but the hops are still at the forefront. So crushable and smooth for an IIPA. And the mouthfeel is perfect. This is a truly remarkable beer, and I am glad I made the trip to "The Yard" for it.

Poured out as a slightly hazy golden color with a white head on top. It's got a nice floral hoppy aroma to it, subtle tropical fruit in there as well. The taste of the beer is well balanced between the hops and malt. Definite bitterness in the finish on this one. The feel is medium bodied. Overall this beer it probably one of my favorites from Vault.
