this beer is a fantastic alternative to all the pumpkin beers this time of year: in my opinion they're often too sweet or too-overly-artificial tasting. This brew, however gives all the best tastes of the fall in a very subtle way, starts cool and then finishes with a nice bitterness. Stood in line for an hour to grab a few cans an glad I did.

First had: on tap at Vault

Hazy, darker copper pour, with a half-finger of off-white head that stuck around for a while. Light aroma of caramel malts and candied yams. Taste pretty much agreed with the nose: bready malts, caramelized sweet potato and a dash of cinnamon and brown sugar, mildly earthy, mildly sweet. The flavor wasn't bad, but it was a bit thinned out. Light-medium body, thin mouthfeel, yet mild enough to drink easily. Decent overall, but nothing that beckoned me back for more.

Got on tap at the Vault. Served from cask tap.

A - Copper color with a mild head from 1 to 2 fingers. 4.0

S - I smelt some brown sugar along with some.

T - Very mild taste. The hops mixed in with the sweet potato contrast very well. If served a little bit colder I might have enjoyed more.

M - Normal mouthfeel. Very light allowing the fruity taste not to be overpowered.

O - I wasn't blown away by the beer, but it was refreshing on a perfect fall night. Vault continues to surprise me. Next time i go I will have to try more styles that I know well.

Poured into a tulip pint. Nitro-tap.

Appearance
Hazy amber with 1 finger of creamy head. Low carbonation.

Nose
Caramel, bread, brown sugar, nutmeg and cinnamon.

Taste
Bread, caramel and brown sugar. The sweet potatoes take on a flavor similar to pumpkin but is, obviously, sweeter. Light spices of cinnamon and nutmeg round out the finish.

Mouthfeel
Light-medium bodied, uber-creamy and incredibly smooth. The nitro pour does this justice.

Overall
Whatever category you want to throw this in, it’s a damn good Autumn beer (Or anytime for that matter). Incredibly balanced, easy drinking and delicious! I will be back for more, Vault.

Pours a dark amber with 2+ fingers of head. A lovely nitro pour. Head stays and stays with a nice lacing.

No real hop presence in the nose. Aroma is slightly sweet, though tough to smell over the wood oven nearby.

Taste is a sweet potato lovers dream-creamy on the tongue and deliciously semisweet without ever getting cloying. Very little bitterness. The flavor of sweet potatoes just lingers.

This is a real winner in a style (fruit spice) that often disappoints.
