On-tap 3/16/2014 at Doherty’s Ale House, in Warwick, RI served in a snifter glass.

A: The beer is a deep amber color, with a large white head that fades slowly and leaves a spotty lace on the glass.

S: The aroma is faint but contains lager yeast, honey, citrus, caramelized malts and some hops.

T: The taste starts out bready with flavors of lager yeast and a hearty malt character. Then some sweet flavors of caramel, honey and citrus come in. The hops presence is significant but not strong and brings a little bit of balance. The after-taste is slightly sweet.

M: Crisp and a little smooth, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is slightly sticky.

O: A little tasty, goes down ok, slightly filling, strong kick, decent representation of style, it’s a decent beer but it’s over-powered for the style.

Clear straw colored pour with a small head and light carbonation. Really creamy flowery hop flavor and a strong malt presence upfront. Body has a strong malty flavor with hints of biscuit and caramel. Hops are subdued but present as the focus is on the malt. Finishes smooth, creamy and sweet.
