Triple Haze is a take on one of our most popular year round offerings, Purple Haze. It is a strong golden lager made with malted barley and wheat. It is hopped with German Perle hops to give the beer a delicate hop flavor. After the beer is filtered, a generous amount of fresh raspberry puree is added. This gives the beer a tartly sweet taste and aroma as well as a bright purple color and haze.

From the neck of the bottle: "BEST BY 06/10/18"
Appearance: True to name, the beer has a very hazy amber body. It has a lively medium-sized head that is fluffy and white with a lot of bubbly activity.
Aroma: There is definitely a raspberry and old fruit aroma to the beer.
Taste: There is a light bit of raspberry tartness, some bitter herbal flavor, and a touch of alcohol.
Mouthfeel: It has a pretty thick body that doesn't really work well for this beer. It makes the beer feel a bit soupy. There is a light bitterness to the beer giving it just a bit of an edge.
Overall: The beer is fairly average. While it may have a higher ABV (8%) than the standard Purple Haze it just isn't as drinkable. This is mostly because the beer just feels thicker which is the exact opposite as the standard Purple Haze. On the positive side of things, while there is some alcohol flavor in this beer it still does a pretty good job of hiding it. Overall the soupy feel mixed with the light tartness and herbal bitterness of the beer just makes it a beer a bit unenjoyable. I wouldn't buy it again and I really wouldn't recommend it unless you were just curious how it tastes compared to the regular Purple Haze.

Appearance: Pours with a golden egg-yolk colored body with a robust, fine white head, which fades only slowly. Scattered, thick and patchy broken lacing adorns the glass walls.
Aroma: Raspberries, wheat malt, and a bread note dominate the aroma. There is a note of vinous alcohol as well. The eight percent ABV is utterly absent in the aroma.
Taste: The taste begins with strong raspberry notes, soon followed by tangy wheat malt. AS the taste progresses, there are grassy hops as well. The alcohol note manifests itself with a slight warming. Finishes with a lingering note of raspberries, grassy hops, and warming alcohol.
Mouth feel: Full and soft, very pleasant, with the slightest hint of carbonation.
Drinkability/notes: A wonderful, sipping beer for the cooler months, like Abita Purple Haze taken up a notch.
Presentation: Packaged in a standard twenty-two ounce brown glass bomber bottle with a pry-off crown, served in a New Belgium Brewing chalice.

A: poured from a 22 oz bottle into a pint glass, golden with a light purple tint, short white head that dissipates leaving little lacing, hazy
S: raspberries and peppery hops, slightly sweet
T: tart raspberry with sweet lager malt flavors, hop profile is earthy
M: higher carbonation, fruit masks the alcohol
O: seems like a lager, Belgian tripel, framboise hybrid that is had to classify into one style

On-tap 6/3/2016 at Boundary Brewhouse in Pawtucket, RI, served in a snifter glass.
A: The beer is a cloudy light gold color, with a thin off-white head that fades quickly and leaves a thin lace on the glass.
S: The aroma contains raspberries, wheat, light caramelized malts and a faint touch of hops.
T: The taste starts out with a strong but not over-powering raspberry flavor followed by some breadiness from wheat, a thin malt character and lager yeast. The hops presence is very mild and there is not much balance. The after-taste is slightly bready and slightly sweet.
M: Not very crisp and not very smooth, light-to-medium body, very light carbonation, finish is slightly sticky.
O: Not very tasty, goes down ok, not too filling, good kick, decent representation of style, not a good beer overall.
