Notes:
Strawberry Harvest Lager is a wheat beer made with real Louisiana strawberries, picked late in the season when they’re at their sweetest. This brew has earned quite a reputation in a short time, causing the brewery to up their production year after year. When this brew is found, emails and phone calls fly to friends informing them of the store’s location. Strawberry Harvest is a crisp, light lager with just a hint of strawberry sweetness.

A: Pours a pale, slightly hazy yellow color with lots of active carbonation visible. The white head is pretty tall, dense, and foamy, with good retention and some patchy lacing.
S: Fairly standard lager malt up front - grainy and sweet. A bit of herbal hop twang. Strawberry aroma is not overdone and comes across as natural.
T: Similar to the smell. Standard lager base of clean, grainy malt and some faint grassy/herbal hops. Strawberry flavor is present at the back end, providing at first a dash of sweetness before fading into a semi-tart flash. A lingering berry aftertaste.
M: Fairly light and definitely refreshing. A bit of slickness into the finish. Carbonation is perky but not overdone. On a muggy night, this definitely gets the job done.
D: I prefer fruit beers to be understated, with fruit flavors complementing rather than overpowering the nature of the brew. While the lager base here is pretty average, they avoid overdoing the strawberry flavor and it never comes across as artificial, which is nice. A light, refreshing, fruity beer.

Poured from bottle into pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a lightly hazy mild golden color. Upon pouring there was a three finger white head on the brew that faded over a moderate amount of time to give a nice amount of lacing.
Smell – The aroma, as would be expected is mostly of strawberry. The strawberry is mixed with a sugary sweet and wheat aroma.
Taste – The taste begins sweet and wheaty. At the front the sweet is more of a sugary sweet with the wheat having a more pronounced role. As the taste advances however the wheaty nature dies out some with grater flavors of a strawberry sweetness coming to the tongue. In the end a somewhat artificial, yet rather pleasant and refreshing strawberry flavor is left on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is thin and the carbonation is on the higher side. Both are very fitting for the flavor and create a rather refreshing feel.
Overall- Refreshing, flavorful, and easy drinking. A great summer brew for a nice hot day outside while sitting with friend and chatting.

This was a great beer I had last night at the Cloverleaf. It wasn't overly sweet which is often the case with fruit beers

A - Pretty pale with medium haze.
S - Eww. Smells kinda skunky and gross. I can smell the stawberry tho..
T - MUCH better than the smell. Very crisp and the fruit is not too much. Strawberry is not a distinctive taste for me it just tastes generally fruity. I mean it doesnt necessarily scream strawberry. Tastes pretty good though. Kinda like a decent macro (high life or pbr) with strawberry added.
M - well carbonated with a light body
D - pretty good beer. Not really my cup of tea but I can def appreciate it and it would be a good one to drink after a workout to cool off.

Aroma is muddled and strawberry is noticable. Good carbonation as bubbles never left my glass.
Flavor is more.akin to strawberries and cream. Very smooth finish.
For my tastes it's noteworthy, but will not purchase again.

Our tasters thought the strong strawberry nose and the surprisingly unsweet taste were the strongest points of the beer, but it still lacked the body and complexity of a truly great strawberry wheat. Still, on the whole, it was a good fruit beer that even those of us who dislike such beers could enjoy.
