A weak example fo the German fall festbier. Some of the taste notes are there, but it has a very watered down mouthfeel. Decent, but wouldn’t past muster in Germany...

Hmm where to start... I love oktoberfests, and this said Oktoberfest-style lager.. So I thought I'd like it... I'm glad I only bought one tho.. The smell is great, look is fine, but the taste.. Oddly sweet.. Too sweet.. and to be honest it doesn't even taste like Oktoberfest to me.. its close enough u can tell it was attempted.. but it just doesn't make an Oktoberfest IMO... its an OK beer I Guess... But I will never buy more.. this reminds me of a drink a child would drink.. too sweet for my tastes...

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass. Thank you shan8454 for this trade.

Appearance: Amber with a thin white head. No lacing on the glass.

Smell: Malts and hops.

Mouthfeel/Taste: Smooth light to medium bodied. Taste of malts and some sweet sugary notes too.

Overall: This one is ok. Sweeter and lighter than most Octoberfest brews I have had.

Pours a clear amber color with a small head that fades to bits of lacing. Aroma is on the mild side with roasted malt, bit of malt sweetness and a bit of hops in the background. Taste of roasted malt, bit of caramel sweetness and a hint of chocolate. Has a subtle bitterness and a clean finish. Fairly medium body, crisp, quite smooth and refreshing. Not a fancy Oktoberfest, but still enjoyable.

on to the weak beers!
slightly orangish color with a very nice head of frothy, creamy, white topping! very nice pour into the Golden Harvest masonry...
supposed to be 'Oktoberfest-like', and very commercial-like, as expected... no wonder I stick to those high-powered seasonal stouts...
taste is... commercial. nothing special here. typical. bland, but decent. looks beautiful upon pour, looks very german, but still very commercial and without the caramel malts. but then, this IS supposed to be an Oktoberfest-type brew.... Abita has solidified the market of commercial, yet slight craft-y brews. great drinkable (session) brews, but still nothing spectacular. widespread availability, relatively successful (financial) I imagine, but still nothing quite yet game-changing. VERY LIGHT, indeed... cheers!
