A - Poured a reddish honey with lots of bubbles and at least a two finger offwhite head that hung around for some time.
S - Huge malt smell upfrunt. Also detected grass, yeast, and even a little lemon
T - Very tasty. Started off quite sweet. Big tastes of malts and caramel. Hand sort of a tangy finish.
M - Very light and smooth. Easy to drink. Very enjoyable.
O - I was impressed with this beer. I found it easy to drink, but still moderately complex with lots of flavor. I will definately pick it up again next year.

Presentation: 12oz short brown bottle. Freshness date on the back label.
Appearance: Clear, bright orange/amber with a rocky, foamy, sticky head -- good retention and large carbonation bubbles.
Smell: Musty, metallic, light esters.
Taste: Malty, rich, smooth and medium-bodied. Sweetness is even and full with caramel, bready and toasted malt flavours. Light fruity esters. Hops are spicy, but not overwhelming and aid quite nicely in breaking up the malty profile. Bitterness is a thin flash of grassy-like flavours, almost not perceived. Finish is near clean with residual malt flavours.
Notes: A damn nice stab at the Maibock style. A bit one-dimensional if compared to traditional Maibocks, but if not compared, this is a pretty tasty offering. Personally I enjoyed it. Drinkable, flavourful and sturdy.

Great beer which really has a festive taste. Would definitely drink if I lived back home in Louisiana during Mardi Gras season! And it comes with a Mardi Gras mask!!!

Aroma of malts, grains, slight vegetal note, faint caramel. Taste slight sweet malt, grains, grassy, hoppy bitter finish.

Poured into a pint glass. Beer pours red orange with a fluffy white head. Smells of dark roasted grain and slight citrus. Tastes of roasted grain with berries. Beer is light-medium bodied and nicely carbonated. Overall a very good beer.

On tap Pork Slope, Brooklyn. A boring looking, malty blast with a poor mix of hops. Did not dig the flavor.

Mardi Gras is only nine months away, so let's get started! On to the beer:
This is a refreshing bock, if that isn't an oxymoron. It's copperish orange color and half-inch head greet the eyes with wonder. The beer isn't too intense, as soft golden raisin, grass, and pilsner malt notes hit the nose, and a kiss of raisin riding a helles lager-like ride helps make this light/medium bodied beer refreshing. In the warm Louisiana climate, Mardi Gras Bock may be the just the beer made for Bourbon Street.

Poured with good clarity a clear rich golden with a well formed, fluffy one finger white head that left broken lace as it settled slowly.A mix of vegetal, and caramel notes in the nose along with a bit of toast.None of the aroma attributes come across on the palate reaaly save some light caramel in the finish, not one thing eally stands out really.Eh,it started out pretty good but really fell flat flavor wise.

Appearance - This is a bright brownish-orange in color with a modest off-white head.
Smell - There's little aroma here but what I'm getting is that light, bockish caramel malt.
Taste - This is bigger at the taste than it smelled. The malt is actually quite nice and rich with some juicy caramel undertones.
Mouthfeel - This is lighter than medium-bodied and very clean
Drinkability - This is a very drinkable example of the style. Nothing here is going to blow you away but this seems to be one of the most problematic styles for American brewers to replicate but Abita did a good job of it.

Pours with a thick head, but very thin lacing and almost no head retention. Golden color. Heavy carbination, but not too much. Very light aroma, hint of champagne in the scent, and there is an almost sweet champagne taste in there too somewhere. Maybe it is apple juice -sparkling cider? Slight bite in there, light bitterness that is left in your mouth afterwards. Light tasting beer, smooth, would be good for hot days in the sun. Goes down easy. One of the better of the Abita's.

Thick, lumpy white head. Tangy, sweet nose. Has an orange quality as well. Flavor has a strong malt character. Fairly stout hops comes in at the end and almost unbalances the beer, but the malt lingers.

Poured into a Sam Adams perfect pint glass
Appearance: high carbonation, 1/4 inch head that goes quickly, orange/brown in color, hazy
Smell: toasted caramel malt and brown sugar--very sweet smelling
Taste: toasted malt and brown sugar with small hops in the background
Mouthfeel: very sweet with a slightly bitter backbone, high carbonation, light body
Overall: A solid maibock. Not overly interesting but not really flawed either. I could have several on a hot day, but there are several other Abita offerings I would hit up first.

Pours a copper color with basically no head. Smell is biscuity with a little bit of fruit and hops. Taste follows the aroma a lot of malt. Not much hop presence in the beer. Even though this beer is half a year old, it still tastes pretty good to me. One of the better Abita brews I have tried.

The nose is a little more "winey" that 6.5% alcohol would suggest, also spicy hops, malt spice.
Pours copper amber under a massive 3"+ slightly off-white persistent foam cap that produces thick ledges of lace.
The palate starts rich and malty balanced by a spicy-earthy hop accent on the finish.
Medium to just above on the body, medium carbonation, creamy and smooth.
