Jockamo I.P.A. is a traditional India Pale Ale made with the best pale and light crystal malts that give the beer a copper color and malty flavor. This full-flavored beer is hopped and dry hopped liberally with Willamette and Columbus hops from the Pacific Northwest and has a 6.5% A.B.V. The spicy aroma of the hops contrasts nicely with the pleasant sweetness of the malts. Jockamo has a flavor that entices and excites the palate.

A - pours a deep, clear amber with a soft eggshell head that fades pretty quickly. No lacing, but a half collar of bubbles remains nonetheless
S - Pretty weak hop profile here, the nose is dominated by sweet maltiness and vegetation.
T - Very similar to the nose, but the hops are a bit upgraded: not fresh hoppy but rather only a tad bitter. More predominantly malt-forward. No hints of citrus to be found.
M - Pretty thin given the maltiness, but definitely an east coast style. Nice carbonation helps to thin it out.
D - Pretty good brew, a nice sessionable Southern IPA. I could see this being even better if it was a little hoppier, but alas, isn't that always the case?

Picked up an Abita variety pack in cans from the liquor store. I am a sucker for juicy IPA's. This one was pretty good, but it honestly tastes like a slightly worse "Juicy Bits" from Weldwerks.

Just not much going on. Looks hazy enough, and bubbly enough, but not much on the nose or palate. I guess ‘okay’ is about right for another Abita effort.
