Notes / Commercial Description:
Jockamo I.P.A. is a traditional India Pale Ale made with the best pale and light crystal malts that give the beer a copper color and malty flavor. This full-flavored beer is hopped and dry hopped liberally with Willamette and Columbus hops from the Pacific Northwest and has a 6.5% A.B.V. The spicy aroma of the hops contrasts nicely with the pleasant sweetness of the malts. Jockamo has a flavor that entices and excites the palate.

Poured from tap into pilsner glass at the NOLA airport. Pours a copper golden with head and lacing. Smells of piney and slight citrus hops. Taste is of citrusy hops and some malts. Overall, its actually a descent IPA. The reviews are somewhat skewed I think. Its a better than average ipa but not spectacular. Go with an open mind into this one.

A - not bad. 85 % opaque. Orangish.
S - hoppy, a little bitter, citrusy
T - standard ipa. A little more malty than I prefer but good. I swear I'm getting Cajun spice notes from. Pretty good.
M - average, medium bodied. Nothing spectacular. Good though.
O - I like this beer. It doesn't compete with some of the better ipas I've had, but it is still pretty good.

A: single finger head on a crimson and amber clear body.

S: session beer sweet citrus hop aroma with a grassy note as well.

T: fairly malty with musty hops and grassy, earthy notes. The hop profile and strong malt presence make this one dull and not too sweet.

M: medium body and moderate carbonation.

Overall: a slightly above average IPA which is sort of the motto of this brewery. not very memorable but worth trying.

Pours a mild amber color. Floral hop nose. The nose is much hoppier than taste of the brew itself, which is dominated by Columbus hops, caramel malt, pepper a notes of pine. The overall hop profile is less pronounced than most IPAs, but that isn't to suggest it is weak. Balanced is a better description.

A - Pours a copper/amber color with a big fluffy head and pretty good lacing.

S - Interesting. Strong Columbus hops, which makes this smell slightly different from most IPAs. Sort of a toasted mix of dankness and pine. Almost a little garlic-y.

T - A very unique taste. Strong hop flavors - dank, resin, pine, spice, a little pepper and mild citrus flavors. It's quite a mix that is honestly a little strange. There is a nice malty (caramel) backbone as well.

M - Medium bodied, nice carbonation, a little bit of a spice in the finish.

O - Abita's Jockamo IPA is an interesting IPA. It has a unique strong and spicy Columbus hop profile which might not be everyone's cup of tea.
