Notes / Commercial Description:
Jockamo I.P.A. is a traditional India Pale Ale made with the best pale and light crystal malts that give the beer a copper color and malty flavor. This full-flavored beer is hopped and dry hopped liberally with Willamette and Columbus hops from the Pacific Northwest and has a 6.5% A.B.V. The spicy aroma of the hops contrasts nicely with the pleasant sweetness of the malts. Jockamo has a flavor that entices and excites the palate.

This is an odd one...poured a bright tanned-copper with a decend head that faded quickly. A thin white ring remained throughout. Liked the look.

Getting the scent of sweet biscuit, light caramel, and a bit of orange zest and grassy hops...but something seems a bit off for an IPA, but i can't put my finger on it.

Hmmm...the elements did not mix very well, making an almost oniony taste...actually making my nose run...i wonder if i'm alergic to the cajun hops or something...lol. It's almost like the specific combo of hops they used with the malts just clash. Carbonation is ok, light drinking for an IPA.

Well, this is one of the available beers in the Abita 12 mixer...let's hope the others are more of an improvement.

Pours a clear copper color with nice fluffy white head with foam that clings to the glass. Smells of pungent hops, mostly Columbus. Herbal, woody, and a bit of dank hop goodness. Smells a tad sweet - likely mostly from the hops but also from the caramel & red malts supposedly added per the back bottle label. Bitterness up front with generous hop flavor. Tastes similar to the nose. Malts add a sweetness to compliment the nice hop character. Feels about medium and alcohol is well in check. Overall, a very nice IPA. Perhaps overlooked. I really dig this! Drink it fresh.
