Notes:
Turbodog is a dark brown ale brewed with Willamette hops and a combination of pale, crystal and chocolate malts. This combination gives Turbodog its rich body and color and a sweet chocolate toffee-like flavor. Turbodog began as a specialty ale but has gained a huge loyal following and has become one of our flagship brews.

Poured from 12-ounce bottle into a tulip glass. Deep chestnut brown, with a tan three-finger head. Good retention and lacing. Aromas and flavors of roasty malt, caramel, chocolate, dark bread, and dried fruit. Lots of pleasant bitterness on the palate. Great carbonation, medium bodied. This finishes dry with a lingering hint of sourness. Pleasant sipper, good with food. Recommended.

1/30/2023 - Coffee colored, not much head; The flavor is mild and unremarkable; The mouthfeel is not bad. The Turbodog package is more appealing that the actual beer.
3/6/2023 - a decent tan head that receded into a cap, looked pretty good, raised look score to 4.0. The mouthfeel also was pretty good, raised feel score .25 to 4.0

Mahogany with a 1.5" tan head, which lasts. Heavy lacing.
Aroma of nuts, roast malt, coffee, light caramel.
Taste is nutty, light caramel, light roastiness, coffee, light hops.
Medium body, light carbonation. dry finish.
One of the better English Browns I've had.

Saw that Aldi had the Aldus Blonde that I was looking for, so I pulled on my Adidas, jumped in my Audi and headed down only to find they had sold out. But I did manage to pick up this Abita instead.
Clear dark brown appearance with a small tan head. Chocolate malt aroma. Earthy, roasted malt, decently hopped flavor. Well carbonated, medium-bodied mouthfeel but lacking in depth and complexity. Still a bargain.

This beer picked up where Brooklyn Brown left off.
Deeply brown color with a pale, tan head that has good legs.
The aroma is sweet and malty with hints of cocoa and roasted grains.
Flavor is solid brown ale boardering on porter - full of chocolate malt and mildly hopped.
Not bitter but hops are there for "brown ale" type balance.
Overall, maybe the best beer Abita makes tho I have not tried all their smaller run seasonals.

Pours dark amber. Thick tan foam. Malty aroma. Sweet caramel body. Roasted malt finish. Not too sweet. A decent brown ale.

Look: Almost black, with brown highlights at the bottom of the glass. One finger of fizzy off-white head with poor retention.
Smell: Faint, dark caramel malt.
Taste: Light toasted malt, some biscuity lightness rather than the typical coffee notes. A bit of stone fruit. Very mild bitterness.
Mouthfeel: Thick and highly carbonated.
Overall: A basic, pleasant dark ale.

A darker brown ale that's kind of halfway between a normal brown ale & porter.

Almost solid black appearance.
Just below average carbonation with about a medium body.
Aroma is malt,caramel, grains.
Taste is mild sweetness yet an almost dryness that is very pleasant. Caramel and malt come through.
Overall it was a really nice brown ale that I would look for again.

12oz bottle with unreadable date code poured into a shaker pint glass at fridge temp 5.6% ABV. The beer pours opaque light brown in color with light brown head. The head recedes to a thin ring and single layer of bubbles. Minimal lacing. The aroma is mild with earthy, bittersweet chocolate. The taste is more bittersweet chocolate with an earthy, mildly bitter finish. The mouthfeel is thin bodied with average carbonation and a mostly dry finish. Overall, average to good. No glaring flaws, but fairly simple.

Smooth and fairly light for my pallet. Decent malt/sweetness balance with the toffee coming through on the backend.

Pours a semi transparent black- it looks like watered down molasses. It smells like darker roasted malts. It tastes like slightly dark chocolate and coffee. It's an incredibly ray to drink dark beer. Dark enough to be a change of pace from something lighter but doesn't feel heavy to drink like a stout or porter. Overall a pretty good beer and the #1 beer to go with southern food.
