Experience the magic of Purple Haze.® Clouds of real raspberries swirl in this tart and tantalizing lager inspired by the good spirits and dark mysteries of New Orleans. Brewed with pilsner and wheat malts along with Vanguard hops, let the scent of berries in the hazy purple brew put a spell on you.

This beer is a great beer and I don't know why it has such a low score
C: beautiful lacing and head retention. Stated with about a finger to finger and a half of head that sizzled down quick to a nice cap. The color is golden haze with some beautiful sediment/ fruit floating around
S: Strong fruit smells, grapefruit, apple, also yeasty, vinegary smell to it actually pleasantly surprised by the smell for a field beer.
T: Just delicious taste of fruit, no booziness, no bitter hops. I could see maybe if you were expecting a wheaty or NEIPA then you would want some hoppy or malty characteristic, but this isn't that and they don't declare that they are a hoppy or malty beer. This is a field beer and a good one at that.
F: light bodied, effervescent yet smooth, very good.
Overall: I picked up a six-pack for $7.99, 4.2%ABV, 12 fl oz., Bottled on N/A, Fresh by 01/25/22, 13 IBU
This is a great field/ fruit beer absolutely fantastic for the price, the bottled date isn't on so that makes the overall score fall a bit. The quality of ingredients seems pretty good and the sessionability is very preferential, but after an imperial stout and NEIPA this beer is a great one to end the night or have during family company if you don't want to drink a corn beer. Really great beer for the niche it fills. I give it a generous 90.

12 ounce well chilt bottle, straight up.
Smells like berries, but not in a lambic way. Boones Farm -ish.
Taste is a bit tart. The pilsner and wheat malts along with Vanguard hops give balance. Aftertaste is sweetly floral.,. nothing memorable here.,0
Thin, medium carb.
Overall, next time I got my gold & purple beads on, I’ll grab one of these little fruity lagers.,.

DATE: April 14, 2023... OCCASION: watching A Sort of Homecoming with Shan and a beer I hadn't had in a long time.. GLASSWARE: Sam Adams custom lager... a hazy, dirty yellow body streams tiny bubbles upward into an off-white ring... the opening scents are metallic hops, raspberry, blueberry, Smarties chalk, and a strange, funky/yeasty annoyance that nonetheless gives it a unique, memorable aroma... slick, oily, watery--yet refreshingly so... some low-end effervescence at the throat... the strawberry and blueberry are punchy, bright and sweetly interwoven with its bready malts.... at 4% and change, crushable and embracing in its friendship... tough to argue with its effect, it might not be one worthy of an up-close profile, but it will win in the right context or gathering... a nice accompaniment for a warm spring night like this...

Look: Nice color, very interesting looking beer.
Smell: Smells fine, kinda smells like raspberries but not a lot like it. Even though it's a raspberry lager.
Taste: Initial taste is fine at best, after taste is really good, best aftertaste of any beer that i've had, but that's not why we rate beers.
Feel: Fine, nothing special, just fine.
Overall I think this beer is just average, it's good and it's very drinkable, but it's just average.

Cool name, interesting aftertaste but a little disappointing for me. I wanted to taste more of the berries.

this brew isn't incredibly special but it is very recognizable once you've had it. the dark stone fruit tang tinge is barely there, with the malt being the primary taste factor here, but it is a pleasant addition. it could be amped up in the fruit area to really step into something more notable, but as a simple session'r, it ain't half bad, and sure beats any of the bland swill from mega-corps, and they've managed to stay privately owned all this time, so it's nice to support such spunk.
if you want a much more effectively executed fruit-themed brew from them, try the Strawberry Lager if you can find it.

This a watery mess with some subtle artificial raspberry. I'll try it again for more experiences but I really wasn't prepared for it to be this bad to me honestly.
