Poured into a tulip glass. Quickly fizzled off some carbonation. No head. Lingering strands of carbonation. Deep golden color with a decent amount of opacity.
Smells sweet, tropical, refreshing, fruity. Unexpected.
Tart to the tongue, but not lip-puckeringly sour. Pineapple, apricot, white grape, chardonnay, oak.
Very well rounded. Sits nicely on the tongue and doesn't feel at all hot for it's high ABV. I would never have guessed anything over 7%.
Really impressive.

Had side by side with Spontanea and it was a no contest. Einzigartig was somewhat bland with off flavors. Couldn't finish my pour.

With tremendous influence from the wine industry, the overcasts of reisling grape must and cabernet sauvignon oak layer upon a sour ale base for a distinctive sour character that's likely to seduce the curious wine appreciator in all of us.

Its reisling influence comes leaping right from the pour, catching the eye with its brightly gleaming golden straw austere. With soft but piquant effervescence, the ale's loosely structured froth sides with its vinous influence even more. Tangy and tart aromas of cider and white grape reign in the nose while its first sip is supple of freshly kilned pilsner malt.

And as the flavors blossom on the palate, its sweetness and bready texture quickly dissolves and allows the full brunt of vinous sourness to have a hay-day with the tastebuds. Dry reisling character is peppery and supple of honey and white grape juice with a pep of white wine vinegar and dry cider to provoke the saliva glands. Continued complexity of oak dries the palate and provides a mild nutty and spicy bite of its own.

Dry, acidic, and drinking much more like German white wine than of ale, the fruit, pepper and absolute tang of the ale finishes with a stern peppery bite and a light buttery film that bolsters the beer's body as much as it detracts from the would-be unapologetic sourness. An aftertaste of fruity grape and fresh-cracked peppercorns precede its trailing raw grains.

Look: Golden orange color, almost look like apple juice. Minimal white fizzy head that dissipates quite quick. Lots of carbonation bubbles.

Smell: Sour, white wine grapes and some oak from the barrel

Taste: Several different varieties of white wine grapes, a medium sourness and then a fairly tart finish.

Feel: Light body and quite a bit of carbonation.
