Into Duvel chalice
A - pours a hazy, golden amber with a frothy white head which dissipated somewhat quickly
S - wow, what a spice explosion! Cinnamon, ginger, orange peel, cloves, and hints of citrus. Very inviting
T - initial hit is of cinnamon and ginger with some yeastiness and breadyness. Tiny hints of citrus again. Spice really tastes quite good in the mouth. Almost a little dry in the finish, but not really
M - medium bodied with some carbonation present
D - I quite like this so far, but I'm only one glass in. GF seems to like it too. I'm always down for a saison as well. However, due to the strong flavor I'm not quite sure I could session this etc. One glass will probably be enough, but I'll gladly finish the bomber.

22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled in 2005. Pours hazy golden amber color with a good 1-2 finger dense white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Good foamy lacing clings to the glass. Aromas of big cinnamon, allspice, ginger, biscuit, pepper, clove, coriander, lemon zest, wheat, herbal, floral, earth, and yeast spiciness. Fantastic aromas with great balance and spice complexity; reminiscent of cinnamon toast crunch a bit. Taste of lemon, pear, toast, cinnamon, allspice, ginger, pepper, coriander, wheat, herbal, floral, clove, and yeast spices. Lingering notes of citrus, pepper, cinnamon, clove, herbal, floral, and yeast spices on the finish for a good bit. Nice flavor complexity and balance; zero cloying sweetness. Medium carbonation and body; with a fairly slick and slightly crisp mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with a slight warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is was a fantastic saison!(even being 7 years old). Great spice balance and complexity and extremely smooth to sip on. This was very highly enjoyable.
