Golden straw color, lots of sediment when poured, nice citrus smell, much more bitter than juicy taste

12 ounce can poured into a tulip glass.
L---Slightly hazy orange/gold color. Nice white head with good retention and very good lacing. Lots of floating chunks of sediment that eventually settled to the bottom .
S---Smells maltier than hoppier. Some tangerine/orange is apparent.
T---Tangerine/orange comes through as normal citrus found in IPAs, not as the major ingredient in the beer. Citrus is the dominant flavor, there's some grapefruit, too.
F---Juicy and a bit tart. Has the ability to be pounded. I could definitely see more than one or two going down on a hot day.
O---I was expecting more from Avery. It's pretty run of the mill and doesn't stand out for having a tangerine presence.

An old specimen, so this isn't representative of the beer at its freshest. Big 'ol craggy head that quickly dissipates into your thin, off-white standard head. Light orange, slightly hazy with bits of yeast or whatever suspended throughout. I get the tangerines on the nose but no real hops. There's a sweet maltiness there too. Taste is less sweet, more bitter; tangerines come through on the back end. Medium-bodied. Not a bad beer at all, but I'll have to seek out a fresher offering before passing final judgement.

I was disappointed with this beer. Hoping for a nice shiny juicy IPA but all I got was malt and bitterness. It was missing the citrus smell and taste was not what I expected. Maybe I got a bad can. Looking at the bottom says canned on 01/05/2018 and I am drinking it at the end of July. That’s unfortunate. I won’t be going back for more
