This is a good but not great beer. It pours redish brown with not a ton of aroma. Very smooth all the way. No spices, which is a little abnormal for a holiday beer. Malty and toffee flavors. Very drinkable, a solid sipper. However, a little underwhelming considering Avery's reputation. A good beer that isn't very memorable

12oz can dated 10/12/16 poured into a pint glass shows a deep, dark, ruddy clear body floating an intermittent fluffy cream colored 1/8in head that leaves spotted lacing.

Aroma is a bit metallic with a sweet malt back.

Flavor starts with the aroma and continues with a biscuit malt, booze, and a subtle caramel, toffee reminder.

Overall a nice warm winter sipper.

I wonder if this is what Christmas in Old London tastes like. Clear rusty brown with cream colored head. Sweet chocolate, toffee, and raisins. Lots of biscuity, cracker, graham like malt. Pretty sweet from first sip to last drop. Perhaps a touch of bitterness like skin still clinging to a filbert. Not too much warmth on the sip; it's more mildly evident in the gullet. Rich but not necessarily complex, which is refreshing in this age of overintellectuliazing (sp?) (is that a word?) beers.

Pours dark amber with a thin tan head. Tastes a little malty with a little spice on the end. Nose is subdued chocolate. Good mouthfeel, maybe a little thin

Clear mahogany color with a tan film that reduces to a ring. Aroma has dark, caramel malt, dried fruits, mostly raisins. Taste follows with the caramel malt and brown sugar, light earthy bitterness on the finish. Light body and carbonation. Overall it's a decent but really simple old ale.

Poured from a 12 OZ can into a pint glass at Taco Mac in Atlanta. The appearance is a reddish brown color with a small tan colored head. The aroma is almost all malt with some nuttiness. The taste is malt with some molasses and some earthy notes.
